What it is and how it fits the system.
The Gent S4T-711 is an S4 SELF-TEST Dual Optical Heat Sensor in the S-Quad Self-Test (S4T) series of loop-powered multi-sensor detectors with patented Self-Test capability. Operating on a 35V-48V loop, it draws 2mA average (4.5mA in Turbo mode) and runs self-test of smoke and heat across an expected 0 to 40°C range. The 117mm-diameter head is rated IP21C and weighs 152g.
Technical overview
The S4T-711 is a Gent by Honeywell S4 SELF-TEST Dual Optical Heat Sensor, a loop-powered multi-sensor detector in the S-Quad Self-Test (S4T) series featuring patented Self-Test capability. It operates on a 35V-48V loop, drawing 2mA average current (4.5mA in Turbo mode) and performs self-test of smoke and heat functions across an expected 0 to 40°C range.
The 117mm-diameter sensor head is rated IP21C and weighs 152g, with ambient operating temperature from -10°C to +50°C and storage temperature from -20°C to +65°C. Relative humidity tolerance is 95% non-condensing between +5°C and +45°C, and it functions in air velocities of 0 to 20 m/s for fire detection and 0 to 1.5 m/s around the device. Enclosure material is Terluran GP-35 (ABS) for the outer housing, available in white (RAL 9010) or black (RAL 9005).
Self-Test features are compatible with Vigilon and Compact Plus panels only, requiring current EN54 loop cards, a CLSS gateway (one per network domain), and the CLSS mobile app. Firmware upgrades are needed for MCB/MCC and loop cards to enable Self-Test and BLE functions. Compatible bases include the S4-700 (common for all S-Quad sensors) and S4BK-700 black base, with IP21C plates (S4-705 white, S4BK-705 black) and accessories such as label plates, dust covers, and removal tools available separately.
