Description

The Gent S4-711-V is an S-Quad dual optical and heat sensor with a voice sounder for Vigilon Plus, Compact Plus and Nano. It combines smoke and heat detection with spoken fire warnings in one head. Four stored English messages and a bell tone provide alarm, alert and test signals. Each speech signal starts with an attention tone, then plays its message. The device takes power from the loop and has a built-in short-circuit isolator. It fits the S4-700 base, with an optional S4-FLUSH kit for semi-flush mounting. This model has no VAD. Its sound outputs synchronise across all loops of one panel.

S4-711-V combines forward and backward optical smoke sensing with heat. The panel selects the detection state. States 2, 6, 11 and 12 do not meet EN 54-7; the selected state must match the required smoke and heat response.

Four English speech messages cover emergency evacuation, an incident alert, a system test and fire evacuation, with a bell tone available as well. Audio storage is up to 20 seconds, with additional local attention tones. Speech follows an attention tone, and pauses before and after the message can be programmed. Fault monitoring checks the speech circuit without playing a test sound.

The sounder provides intermittent, alternating and continuous tone signals. Sound outputs synchronise across all loops of one panel; that timing does not extend across a network of panels. This model provides an audible warning without a visual alarm.

Supplied with one sensor head and one blue protective dust cover. The mounting base is not included. The S4-700 standard base supports this detector, with the S4-FLUSH kit available for semi-flush installation. Across the S-Quad range, the head is 117 mm in diameter and 49.6 mm high, increasing to 63.8 mm high on the standard base. The range uses an ABS enclosure and a 35-48 V loop supply.

Use Vigilon Commissioning Tool v1.32 or later for device setting changes, or Nano Commissioning Tool v3.0 or later for Nano configuration. Verify the system design with the Gent Battery Standby and Loop Load calculator. The S-Quad programmable connection can operate as a monitored input or an unmonitored output, with a maximum 15 m run to the external I/O unit.
