SAFE Button
We supply Gent SAFE Button kits and replacement switches for local alarm control. Our Gent by Honeywell range covers parts for engineers specifying SAFE systems and trade buyers ordering replacements.
The Gent SAFE 1 button comes in white. The Gent SAFE 2 button comes in white, red and stainless steel. We supply each kit with a switch, a four-channel interface and a wiring loom. Spare switches come with a loom. The buttons provide local silence and test control in a SAFE system. Each alarm area groups S-Quad sensors in one part of a building.
SAFE-RED-D-KIT is the red double button kit. SAFE-WHITE-D-KIT is the white version. We supply the stainless steel double button as SAFE-SS-D-KIT. Each double button has separate silence and test positions. The silence LED is red. The test LED is green. SAFE-WHITE-S-KIT combines both functions on one control with a red LED. Each kit includes an S4-34450 interface to connect the switch to the fire alarm loop. SAFE operation works with Vigilon Plus and Compact Plus panels. It needs MCC/MCB software V4.57 or later and LPC software V4.52 or later. The switch-to-interface cable run can be up to 30m. We supply the interface enclosure separately.
For a switch replacement, choose the same button arrangement and finish as the existing unit. We supply SAFE-RED-D-SPARE as the red double switch with a loom. SAFE-WHITE-D-SPARE is the white double switch replacement. SAFE-SS-D-SPARE is the stainless steel version. For a white single switch replacement, we supply SAFE-WHITE-S-SPARE. Spare switches exclude the S4-34450 interface. Our S4 Interfaces & Accessories range includes enclosures for that interface. S4 Detectors includes the S-Quad sensors used in alarm areas. We also supply Nano panels in their own range.

In normal conditions, it tests the alarms in its assigned area. During the initial smoke alert delay, it provides local alarm silence. The switch connects to the system through an S4-34450 interface. We supply the replacement switch and loom without the interface.
- What is the difference between the single and double SAFE buttons?
- SAFE-WHITE-S-KIT combines silence and test on one control, while SAFE-WHITE-D-KIT gives each function a separate position. The single button has a red LED. The double button has a red silence LED and a green test LED. The double button also supports temporary area smoke disablement in normal conditions. The duration is set during commissioning. We supply both kits with the switch, an S4-34450 interface and a wiring loom.
- Which panels support the SAFE switch kits?
- We supply SAFE-SS-D-KIT for SAFE systems using Vigilon Plus or Compact Plus panels. SAFE-WHITE-S-KIT works with the same panel families. The panel needs MCC/MCB software V4.57 or later and LPC software V4.52 or later. The interface and alarm area are configured for single or double button operation. - Does a SAFE kit include the interface enclosure?
- No, SAFE-RED-D-KIT comes without the interface enclosure. SAFE-SS-D-KIT also excludes it. Both kits contain a switch, an S4-34450 interface and a wiring loom. The switch and interface are separate assemblies. The cable between them has a 30m maximum length. We recommend the S4-34490 large plastic box for the four-channel interface. We supply this enclosure separately through our S4 Interfaces & Accessories range.
