S4 Self Test Detectors
We supply Gent self test detector models from the Gent by Honeywell S4T family for fire alarm engineers and trade buyers. The S4T-710 combines optical smoke and heat sensing.
The S4T-711 uses dual optical and heat sensing. The S4T-720 detects heat only. These three models have no integrated sounder or visual alarm device. The S4T-711 generates smoke inside the detector to test its optical sensor. It warms its temperature sensor to test the heat response. We also supply models with integrated sounders, voice sounders and High Power red visual alarm devices.
Our Gent Self-Test detectors share the S4-700 mounting base. Self-Test needs a Vigilon Plus or Compact Plus panel with compatible controller and loop card firmware. Nano does not support the S4T range. The S4T-711 also needs current EN54 loop cards and the CLSS mobile app. Each network domain needs a CLSS gateway for Self-Test. A CLSS Self-Test licence is required. We supply the S4T-711-V for dual optical heat detection with a voice sounder. The S4T-711-V-VAD-HPR adds a High Power red VAD. For dual optical heat detection with a High Power red VAD, we supply the S4T-711-VAD-HPR. This model has no sounder.
For heat detection with a voice sounder and High Power red VAD, we supply the S4T-720-V-VAD-HPR. The S4T-780-S combines heat detection with a tone sounder. Choose the S4T-770-S for optical heat detection with a tone sounder. The S4T-771-S combines dual optical heat detection with a tone sounder. We supply the S4-700 base for the S4T-711, with label plates and removal tools available separately. Our S4 Bases & Accessories range includes the S4-705 white mounting plate. - How does the S4T-711 test its sensors?
- The S4T-711 tests both its optical and heat sensors. It generates smoke inside the detector to test the optical response. A fan clears the smoke through the entry openings to check for obstruction. The heat test warms the temperature sensor and checks its response. The S4T-711 meets EN 54-5 and EN 54-7 for heat and smoke detection. We also supply the heat-only S4T-720.

The S4T-780-S detects heat only. These three models give an audible alarm from the detector position. None includes a VAD. For dual optical heat detection with spoken messages, we supply the S4T-711-V voice sounder model.
- Which Self-Test detectors include a red VAD?
- We supply dual optical heat and heat-only detectors with High Power red visual alarm devices (VADs). The S4T-711-VAD-HPR combines dual optical smoke and heat sensing with a VAD. It has no sounder. The S4T-711-V-VAD-HPR adds a voice sounder. The S4T-720-V-VAD-HPR combines heat-only detection with a voice sounder and VAD. We supply these three models with visual alarms built into the detector head.
- Which base and accessories suit the S4T-711?
- The S4T-711 uses the S4-700 mounting base and accepts the S4-705 white mounting plate. The same base and plate also fit the S4T-710. Label plates and removal tools are available separately for the S4T-711. Its dust cover is included with the detector. All ten Self-Test models on this page use the S4-700 base. We supply the bases, plates and tools through our S4 Bases & Accessories range.
