Description

The Gent S4BK-711-V is a black S-Quad dual optical smoke and heat detector with a voice sounder for Vigilon Plus, Compact Plus and Nano loops. It combines smoke and heat sensing with spoken alarm messages and sounder tones in one head. The black housing is a colour option, with the same sensor states and sensing channels as the white S4-711-V. It includes a short-circuit isolator and takes power from the loop. The sounder has continuous and alternating tone settings, and the S-Quad speech function allows stored messages to be reprogrammed. The matching S4BK-700 black base is ordered separately. This version has no visual alarm.

The S4BK-711-V combines dual optical smoke detection, heat detection and a voice sounder. Its sensing channels are 1 for forward optical, 2 for heat and 4 for backward optical. Channel 5 reports sounder and speech faults to the control panel. The detector includes a short-circuit isolator and is compatible with Vigilon Plus, Compact Plus and Nano loops.

Its EN 54-3 tone settings are continuous 933 Hz and an alternating sequence of 933 Hz for 0.25 seconds followed by 700 Hz for 0.25 seconds. In the S-Quad speech range, stored audio provides an attention tone followed by a message, with up to 20 seconds of audio storage. Factory speech messages can be reprogrammed. Sounder outputs synchronise across all loops of one panel; synchronisation does not extend across a network of panels.

The black S4BK-711-V and white S4-711-V share sensor states and sensing channels. State 0 is the factory setting, combining normal optical smoke sensitivity with Class A1 heat response. Other settings change the optical sensitivity and heat response; State 12 provides Class A1 heat detection with optical sensing off. States 2, 6 and 11 have EN 54-5 approval only. The commissioning tool treats the black and white prefixes alike for equivalent devices.

This model has audible alarm functions without a VAD. The black S4BK-711-V-VAD-HPR combines the same dual optical and heat sensor functions with voice sound and a High Power red visual alarm. Its visual alarm adds coverage and loop-loading requirements to the installation.

The matching black base is S4BK-700, ordered separately. The S-Quad range is loop powered at 35-48 V and has an ABS housing. Range head dimensions are 117 mm diameter by 49.6 mm high, rising to 63.8 mm with the standard base. The range operates from -10°C to +50°C, stores from -20°C to +70°C and accepts up to 95% non-condensing relative humidity from +5°C to +45°C. IP21C applies with the base mounted on an IP21 plate; the matching black plate is S4BK-705. The S4-FLUSH semi-flush surround fits and works with this detector, but its white finish does not match the black body.
