Description
The Gent S4BK-705 is a pack of five black IP21 base covers for S-Quad installations. Each plate fits between the common base and the ceiling at one detector position. For a ceiling S-Quad detector with a built-in VAD, it is used with the S4BK-700 base. The plate clips to the base and seals around the cable entries when the holes are pierced smaller than the cable. Align the fixing slots, then secure the base and plate to a metal back box with two screws. The pack provides plates for five bases. The bases and fixing screws are supplied separately. The locating clips hold the base and plate together during fitting.

For ceiling S-Quad detectors with an integral VAD, the plate forms part of the base assembly. A non-VAD detector uses the common base alone. The plate clips to the base after the elongated holes have been aligned.
Pierce the thinned cable entry area for each cable, keeping the opening smaller than the cable diameter so that it seals against the sheath. At a standard metal box with 50mm fixing centres, pierce the screw openings at the inner ends of the elongated slots. Route the cables through the plate and base before securing them to the box.
Two suitable screws secure the base and plate to the metal box; these are supplied separately. The arrangement can be fitted at a ceiling tile or a solid ceiling. The pack contains the plates, with the common bases supplied separately.
