Description

The Gent S4-711-VAD-HPR is an S-Quad dual optical and heat sensor with a red High Power VAD for Vigilon Plus, Compact Plus and Nano. At High, its light covers C-3-14; on Nano it runs at Low with C-3-10 coverage. It takes power from the loop and has a built-in short-circuit isolator. This version has no sounder or voice output; the S4-711-V-VAD-HPR adds voice. Use the S4-701 base and IP seal plate for IP21C. By default, the light flashes once every two seconds. Across the S-Quad range, the head is 117 mm in diameter and 49.6 mm high. A red LED gives a fire indication at the device. The enclosure is ABS.

S4-711-VAD-HPR combines forward and backward optical smoke sensing with heat. The panel selects the detection state. States 2, 6, 11 and 12 do not meet EN 54-7; the selected state must match the required smoke and heat response.

S4-711-VAD-HPR combines forward and backward optical smoke sensing with heat. The panel selects the detection state. States 2, 6, 11 and 12 do not meet EN 54-7; the selected state must match the required smoke and heat response.

The alarm output is a red visual warning. This model has no sounder or speech function. S4-711-V-VAD-HPR combines dual optical and heat detection with a red High Power VAD and a voice sounder.

The red High Power VAD offers High, Medium and Low settings. Ceiling coverage is C-3-14, C-3-13 and C-3-10 respectively. High also supports O-4.5-14 and Medium supports O-4-13. On Nano the light is fixed at Low, giving C-3-10 coverage. Use the two-second flash interval for EN 54-23 operation.

Supplied with one sensor head and one blue protective dust cover. The mounting base and IP21 mounting plate are not included. Fit the S4-701 base with its IP seal plate to achieve IP21C. S-Quad VAD installations require an IP21 mounting plate for EN 54-23 operation. The visual alarm synchronises across all loops of the same panel. Synchronisation does not extend across a network of panels.

For Vigilon Plus and Compact Plus VAD coverage, use MCC/MCB software v4.52 or later and LPC software v4.48 or later. Use Vigilon Commissioning Tool v1.32 or later for device setting changes. Nano configuration uses Nano Commissioning Tool v3.0 or later. Verify the system design with the Gent Battery Standby and Loop Load calculator.

FAQs

What visual alarm coverage does S4-711-VAD-HPR provide?

At High, the S4-711-VAD-HPR gives C-3-14 ceiling coverage, equal to 461.8 m³. Medium gives C-3-13 and Low gives C-3-10. The open categories are O-4.5-14 at High and O-4-13 at Medium. In a C rating, the two numbers give the maximum ceiling height and coverage diameter, both in metres; the covered space is cylindrical. Use a two-second flash interval and the S4-701 base with its IP seal plate. Coverage changes with the selected power setting.

Does S4-711-VAD-HPR include a voice sounder?

The S4-711-VAD-HPR combines dual optical and heat sensing with a red High Power visual alarm. It has no sounder or speech output. Its optical channels use forward and backward scatter, while the heat channel provides temperature sensing. The red VAD provides the visual warning and flashes every two seconds in its EN 54-23 setting. S4-711-V-VAD-HPR adds a voice sounder to dual optical and heat detection with a red High Power VAD. Both models have a built-in loop isolator.

How does S4-711-VAD-HPR operate on Nano?

The S4-711-VAD-HPR works on a Nano loop, where its VAD is fixed at Low. Its ceiling coverage on Nano is C-3-10. The High and Medium visual alarm settings are therefore unavailable on Nano. Its dual optical and heat sensing remain part of the device. Configure the Nano system with Nano Commissioning Tool v3.0 or later. Use the S4-701 base and IP seal plate, and keep the visual alarm flash interval at two seconds.

Which mounting parts does S4-711-VAD-HPR use?

Use the S4-701 base and its IP seal plate with the S4-711-VAD-HPR to achieve IP21C. The S4-701 is the IP21 base kit and includes the plate. S-Quad VAD installations require an IP21 mounting plate for EN 54-23 operation. The S-Quad range also includes the S4-705 plate pack, containing five plates. The detector uses a ceiling position for its red visual alarm; the selected power setting determines its coverage height and diameter. Its loop connection supplies power to the head.

How are S4-711-VAD-HPR alarm outputs set up and synchronised?

The S4-711-VAD-HPR visual alarm synchronises with compatible devices across all loops belonging to the same panel. Synchronisation does not extend across a network of panels. The red VAD uses a two-second flash interval for EN 54-23 operation. This model provides a visual warning without a sounder or spoken message. On Nano, this VAD operates at Low with C-3-10 ceiling coverage. Fit the S4-701 base and IP seal plate for IP21C.
