The VHX-0420 is the Xtralis VESDA Modbus Type 3 High Level Interface Standard, a flexible interface unit for integrating VESDAnet networks with host monitoring platforms where permanent mounting is not required. It acts as a proxy for all VESDA devices on the network, supporting up to 100 detectors and connecting via a VESDAnet socket interface to Building Management Systems and Fire Alarm Control Panels using Modbus communication.
Operating at 24 VDC with a quiescent current of 70 mA (1.68 W), the unit features RS-485 for VESDAnet and RS-232 for VESDAlink/Host connections. The VHX-0420 requires a remote VESDAnet socket (VRT-300) for network connection and uses VESDAlink (VSP-509) and VESDAnet (VSP-511) cables for configuration and physical wiring. It measures 7.4 in. x 3.9 in. x 1.6 in. (188 mm x 98 mm x 40 mm), weighs 0.9 lbs (0.4 kg), and is backed by a 2-year product warranty, with continued support in China among remaining VHX variants.
