Description

VEA-040-A00 is the version of the VESDA-E VEA-40 that signals alarm and fault conditions on LEDs rather than a screen. Microbore tubing carries the sampled air to laser detection chambers, and each of the forty tubes is individually addressed.

The enclosure measures 352 mm x 336 mm x 135.5 mm, weighs 9.9 kg (21.8 lbs) and is rated IP40. Field cabling terminates on screw terminal blocks 0.2-2.5 sq mm (24 - 14 AWG), and sampled air may be between 0°C to 50°C (32°F to 122°F).

A linear vacuum pump moves the air, coarse particle filtering and a clean air barrier protect the optics, three sensitivity settings are available for the sampling points, and automatic sampling point cleaning takes place at set intervals.

Ethernet 100BASE-T, a local host-mode USB port and VESDAnet networking are all provided, with Xtralis VSC and VSM4 PC software support behind them. The filter, smoke sensor module, pump and rotary valve are field replaceable, and the detector mounts on a steel support bracket.

The unit is built to EN 54-20 and ISO 7240-20 Class A, B and C, carrying CE, UKCA, VdS and ActivFire approval, although regional approvals and regulatory compliance vary between product models.
