What it is and how it fits the system.

The Xtralis VSP-1000 is a reducer for VESDA-E VEA aspirating pipe networks, joining normal-diameter capillary tube (6 mm outer / 4 mm inner) to reduced-diameter tube (4 mm outer / 2.5 mm inner). It is fitted where the pipe network calculator calls for a transition between the two tube sizes, maintaining a sealed sampling path.

Technical overview

VSP-1000 joins normal-diameter and reduced-diameter capillary tube in Xtralis VESDA-E VEA aspirating pipe networks, serving as the reducer fitted wherever the VEA Capillary Tube Length Calculator (Document 29261) calls for a run built from both normal and reduced-diameter sections. On its normal side the fitting takes capillary tube of 6 mm outside and 4 mm inside diameter; the reduced side matches tube of 4 mm outside and 2.5 mm inside diameter.

Context for the fitting comes from the VESDA-E VEA-040-A00 capillary tube network, which requires between 6 and 40 capillary tubes, each up to a maximum length of 100 m. Unused detector inlets on the same network must be closed with VSP-998 blanking plugs, and VSP-990-NYLON-BLK 6 mm microbore nylon tube is compatible.

Across the transition between the two tube sizes the reducer maintains a sealed sampling path, and physical connection detail for fitting the part is given in the installation manual.
