Description

This is the single pipe VEP in its plastic enclosure, indicating on LEDs. Short wavelength laser-based detection gives high sensitivity from small particle light scattering, needs no drift compensation because focused light directed at target gives low backgrounds, and holds high stability with temperature and time.

The body measures 350 mm x 225 mm x 135 mm (13.8 in x 8.9 in x 5.3 in), weighs 4.4 kg (9.7 lbs), rated IP40. Ambient range is 0°C to 38°C (32°F to 100°F) with sampled air from -20°C to 60°C (-4°F to 140°F) at 5% to 95% RH, non-condensing; sampled air must be at ambient detector temperature on entry to the detector. Pipe inlet external diameter is 25 mm or 1.05 in (3/4 in IPS).

Alert, Action, Fire1 and Fire2 give four alarm levels across a sensitivity range of 0.005 to 20% obs/m (0.0015% to 6.575% obs/ft). Seven programmable relays can be set latching or non-latching and two programmable GPIs (1 monitored) for flexible remote control are fitted. The detector is suitable for Class 1 Division 2 applications - Groups A, B, C & D.
