Description
This is the single pipe VEP in its plastic enclosure, indicating on LEDs. Short wavelength laser-based detection gives high sensitivity from small particle light scattering, needs no drift compensation because focused light directed at target gives low backgrounds, and holds high stability with temperature and time.
The body measures 350 mm x 225 mm x 135 mm (13.8 in x 8.9 in x 5.3 in), weighs 4.4 kg (9.7 lbs), rated IP40. Ambient range is 0°C to 38°C (32°F to 100°F) with sampled air from -20°C to 60°C (-4°F to 140°F) at 5% to 95% RH, non-condensing; sampled air must be at ambient detector temperature on entry to the detector. Pipe inlet external diameter is 25 mm or 1.05 in (3/4 in IPS).
VEP-A00-1P is the one pipe, LED version of the VESDA-E VEP aspirating smoke detector in a plastic enclosure, built around Flair detection technology for very early warning. Its aspirator takes a total of 130 m (427 ft) of branched sampling pipe in the one pipe model, or 100 m (328 ft) run linear, over an area of 1,000 m2 (10,760 sq. ft).
A, B and C hole counts are 30/40/45, minimum airflow per pipe is 15 l/m and the aspirator setting is fixed. Working from 18-30 VDC (24 V Nominal), consumption is 8.8 W quiescent and 9.6 W in alarm at 24 VDC.

Alert, Action, Fire1 and Fire2 give four alarm levels across a sensitivity range of 0.005 to 20% obs/m (0.0015% to 6.575% obs/ft). Seven programmable relays can be set latching or non-latching and two programmable GPIs (1 monitored) for flexible remote control are fitted. The detector is suitable for Class 1 Division 2 applications - Groups A, B, C & D.
