Technical overview
VHX-1320 is the wall-mounted version of the VESDA Access High Level Interface (HLI) from Xtralis, designed for permanent installation on flat surfaces within the VESDA Programming and Connectivity range. Its integral VESDAnet interface eliminates the need for a separate remote socket module, enabling direct integration of VESDAnet networks with host monitoring platforms such as Building Management Systems and Fire Alarm Control Panels.
The unit operates on a 24 VDC supply with a quiescent current consumption of 70 mA, resulting in a power draw of 1.68 W. It supports up to 100 detectors from the VESDA VLP, VLS, VLC, VLF, and VLI ranges, as well as VESDA-E VEP, VEP 1P, and VEU detectors, with mimic mode support for VLP/VLC/VLS types. Host connectivity is provided via RS-232 or RS-485 interfaces.
The VHX-1320 facilitates configuration and monitoring through Xtralis software packages when connected via a VESDAlink RS-232 9-way serial cable (male–female). Physical wiring details are documented in the installation manual, and the unit is housed in a metal enclosure measuring approximately 280 mm x 185 mm x 55 mm and weighing 2 kg.
