Description

The VLI carries an IP66-rated enclosure with a rubberized finish to the external housing. It has been tested to -10°C to 55°C (14°F to 131°F), with a recommended detector ambient of 0°C to 39°C, sampled air from -20°C to 60°C (-4°F to 140°F) and humidity of 10% to 95% RH, non-condensing, and it is suitable for Class 1 Division 2 applications - Groups A, B, C & D.

Design, commissioning and maintenance are fully supported by the Xtralis ASPIRE, VSC and VSM4 software applications, which ease pipe network design, system commissioning and maintenance.

VLI-885 is the VESDA VLI with VESDAnet, an early warning Aspirating Smoke Detection (ASD) system for industrial and harsh environments covering to 2,000 m2. Clean Air Zero, a user-initiated VLI feature, compliments consistent absolute detection over time and also safeguards against nuisance alarms.

Sampling is carried on up to 4 inlet pipes with an internal diameter of 15 mm - 21 mm (9/16”-7/8”) and an external diameter of 25 mm (1”), and both imperial and metric pipe ports are provided. Minimum total airflow is 40 l/m, with a minimum airflow per pipe of 20 l/m, and the air sample passes four (4) sets of ultrasonic flow sensors before being passed through the Intelligent Filter.

A configurable general input working at 5 - 30 VDC can be assigned to External Reset, Mains OK, Standby, Isolate, Use Night-time Threshold, Reset + Isolate or Inverted Reset, and field cabling terminates on screw terminal blocks taking 0.2-2.5 sq mm (30-12 AWG). AutoLearn runs from a minimum of 15 minutes to a maximum of 15 days, with 14 days recommended as the minimum; while AutoLearn is in progress, thresholds are NOT changed from pre-set values. A local USB configuration port is fitted for setting the detector up on site. Approval covers EN 54-20, CE, UKCA, LPCB, NF, FM, ActivFire and SIL 2 as per IEC 61508; the regional approvals that apply and the regulatory compliance achieved vary from one product model to another.
