Description

Sector addressability reaches up to four sectors, and VES-A00-P is the build that indicates on LEDs. An adaptive scan threshold governs when the scan begins.

Quiescent consumption at 24 VDC is 7.5 W with the aspirator on setting 1, 9.8 W on setting 5 and 15.4 W on setting 10; in alarm the same three settings give 8.4 W, 10.8 W and 15.8 W. It weighs 4.7 kg (10.4 lbs) and needs a minimum airflow per pipe of 20 l/m across 2,000 m2 (21,520 sq. ft) of coverage.

VES-A00-P is the LED build of the VESDA-E VES, a four-sector aspirating smoke detector in a plastic enclosure. It includes a valve mechanism in the inlet manifold and software to control the airflow from the four Sectors (pipes), so one zone can be split across four separately reported sectors.

Air is drawn from all sectors in use. If the smoke level reaches the Adaptive Scan Threshold, the VES quickly scans each sector to identify which sector is carrying smoke; the first sector to reach the Alert level becomes the First Alarm Sector (FAS) and is signalled to the user, and where two or more sectors reach Alert, the sector with the highest smoke concentration takes that designation.

The classes are A with 40 holes at Fire 1 = 0.067% obs/m, B with 80 holes at 0.085% obs/m and C with 100 holes at 0.251% obs/m; ASPIRE determines the classification of any configuration. The detector is backward compatible with VLS and VESDAnet.

Twelve programmable relays are fitted, latching or non-latching, with contacts rated 2 A @ 30 VDC (Resistive). Ethernet is present for connectivity with Xtralis software for configuration, secondary monitoring and maintenance.
