Description

The Gent VIGPLUS-NODE is a Vigilon Plus terminal node for network and input/output cards. It gives access to system information through a backlit display, event lights and local controls. Its slots take extra IO cards in place of loop cards, with up to four optional IO cards supported. A copper network card and an IO card are supplied, and a fibre network card can be fitted. The node has its own mains power supply and internal battery space. Two 4015-602-YFR batteries are required and ordered separately. Surface, semi-flush and rack mounting options help match the node to the planned installation.

VIGPLUS-NODE provides a terminal point within a Vigilon Plus network. It accommodates network and input/output cards, with up to four optional IO cards in the positions labelled for loop cards. Network cards can join networks, while IO cards provide connections for a remote printer and central system.

VIGPLUS-NODE provides a terminal point within a Vigilon Plus network. It accommodates network and input/output cards, with up to four optional IO cards in the positions labelled for loop cards. Network cards can join networks, while IO cards provide connections for a remote printer and central system.

A copper network card and an IO card are supplied. The copper RS485 network connection allows up to 1.2 km between connected units with suitable cabling; an optional fibre network card allows up to 2 km. The RS232 connection for a domain bridge or remote printer has a maximum cable length of 15 m. An RS485 port accepts Repeat Indicator panels, and the Master Control Card has a USB connection for commissioning.

The node has its own mains power supply and houses its standby batteries internally. Order two 4015-602-YFR Power Sonic Flame Retardant 12V 21Ah batteries separately. The nominal battery charging current is 2.4 A. The node weighs approximately 10.2 kg excluding batteries; the fully assembled node weighs 22.2 kg with batteries.

An eight-line, 40-character-per-line backlit LCD displays event information. LEDs and a local buzzer provide event indications, and four programmable buttons, U1 to U4, support configured actions. Two front-door buttons scroll fire messages. An SD card holds configuration and event-log information. Two master alarm circuits and configurable auxiliary relay contacts provide further connections.

Surface and semi-flush mounting are supported, with cable entries at the rear and top. VIG-24-FLUSH is the semi-flush surround option. The stainless steel VIG-FLUSH-SS surround requires a stainless steel door. A frame allows the node to be mounted in a 19-inch rack. The enclosure measures 543 mm high by 406 mm wide by 172 mm deep with its outer door fitted and has an IP30 rating.

FAQs

What is VIGPLUS-NODE used for?

VIGPLUS-NODE is a terminal node for a Vigilon Plus network. It accommodates additional network and IO cards and provides local event information and controls. Network cards can connect networks together, while IO cards connect equipment such as a remote printer or central system. Up to four optional IO cards can occupy the positions labelled for loop cards. The backlit display, event lights, buzzer and programmable buttons give the operating point its own indication and control facilities.

Which batteries should I order with the node?

Order two 4015-602-YFR batteries with VIGPLUS-NODE. These Power Sonic Flame Retardant 12V 21Ah batteries are not included with the network node. The node houses the batteries internally and uses its own mains power supply to charge them; the nominal charging current is 2.4 A. Its weight of approximately 10.2 kg excludes the batteries. The fully assembled node weighs 22.2 kg with batteries, so the wall fixings must support that weight.

What network and serial connections are available?

The node is supplied with a copper network card and an IO card for its RS232 connection. Copper network links can extend up to 1.2 km with suitable cabling, while an optional fibre network card supports links up to 2 km. RS232 serves a domain bridge or remote printer and has a 15 m cable limit. A separate RS485 port accepts Repeat Indicator panels. The USB connection on the Master Control Card is for the commissioning tool.

What cabinet mounting options does the node have?

The node can be surface mounted or installed with a semi-flush surround. VIG-24-FLUSH is the standard surround option; the stainless steel VIG-FLUSH-SS surround requires a stainless steel door. A mounting frame is available for installing the node in a 19-inch rack. Cable entry is available at the rear and top. With its outer door fitted, the enclosure is 543 mm high, 406 mm wide and 172 mm deep. Allow for the batteries when choosing the mounting fixings.

How does the node display events and provide controls?

The node uses a backlit LCD with eight lines and 40 characters per line to show event information. LEDs indicate events and operating states, while a local buzzer announces events. Two buttons on the front door allow fire messages to be scrolled, and the U1 to U4 buttons can be programmed for configured actions. An SD card stores configuration and event-log information. The node also provides two master alarm circuits and auxiliary relay contacts configurable for fire, fault or disablement events.
