Description

The Gent VIG-NC-DOM-FO is a secure fibre optic domain bridge card for Vigilon networks. It joins up to 64 smaller networks into a secure domain, with up to 200 panels and nodes across the whole system. Fibre runs between the nodes of those networks can be up to 2 km. The card fits VIGPLUS-24, VIGPLUS-72 and the Vigilon Plus Network node. It uses chip 2211-141 for an EN panel, with 2211-142 as the BS option. The host needs MCC V4.16 or later for EN, or V3.90 or later for BS. The VIG-NC-FO and VIG-NC-DOM-FO pair uses dedicated backplane slots. The domain address range for VIG-NC-DOM-FO is 1 to 64.

VIG-NC-DOM-FO is a multimode fibre optic domain bridge for VIGPLUS-24, VIGPLUS-72 and Vigilon Plus Network nodes. It joins up to 64 smaller networks into a secure domain, with a maximum of 200 panels and nodes across the whole system. Fibre distances between nodes of the smaller networks can reach 2 km.

Read the full technical description

VIG-NC-DOM-FO is a multimode fibre optic domain bridge for VIGPLUS-24, VIGPLUS-72 and Vigilon Plus Network nodes. It joins up to 64 smaller networks into a secure domain, with a maximum of 200 panels and nodes across the whole system. Fibre distances between nodes of the smaller networks can reach 2 km.

For EN Vigilon panels, chip 2211-141 is factory fitted and the host requires MCC V4.16 or later. The BS option uses chip 2211-142 with MCC V3.90 or later. SW1 sets the domain address and baud rate. The domain address range is 1 to 64.

VIG-NC-FO and VIG-NC-DOM-FO use 62.5/125µm multimode fibre at 820nm, with ST sockets directly on the cards. Baud settings are 19.2K, 38.4K, 115.2K and 230.4K. Both cards fit dedicated host backplane positions, with patch leads of the correct length between card and patch panel.

On both cards, P2 and P3 are booster links for End 1 and End 2 respectively. The links must be fitted for fibre distances exceeding 750 m. Both cards measure 144 mm high by 100 mm wide, operate from 0°C to 45°C and can be stored from -10°C to 55°C. Relative humidity is up to 90%, non-condensing.

FAQs

What does the VIG-NC-DOM-FO connect?

VIG-NC-DOM-FO joins smaller Vigilon networks into a secure domain, supporting up to 64 networks and 200 panels and nodes across the whole system. Fibre cable between nodes of the smaller networks can run up to 2 km. It fits VIGPLUS-24, VIGPLUS-72 and the Vigilon Plus Network node. VIG-NC-FO and VIG-NC-DOM-FO use dedicated backplane slots, 62.5/125µm multimode fibre at 820nm and ST sockets. SW1 on VIG-NC-DOM-FO sets the domain address, from 1 to 64, and the baud rate.

How does it differ from the VIG-NC-FO node card?

VIG-NC-DOM-FO joins up to 64 smaller networks into a domain, with up to 200 panels and nodes across the complete system. VIG-NC-FO connects up to 31 control panels and network nodes in a secure loop. Both use 62.5/125µm multimode fibre at 820nm with ST sockets, but their EN and BS chips differ. VIG-NC-DOM-FO uses factory-fitted EN chip 2211-141 or optional BS chip 2211-142. Its EN host requires MCC V4.16 or later; its BS host requires MCC V3.90 or later.

Which chip and MCC versions apply to VIG-NC-DOM-FO?

For an EN Vigilon panel, VIG-NC-DOM-FO uses factory-fitted chip 2211-141 and requires MCC V4.16 or later. The BS option uses chip 2211-142 with MCC V3.90 or later. Chip 2211-140 is the BS option for VIG-NC-FO. On both cards, use antistatic precautions during chip replacement and a suitable extractor for removal. VIG-NC-DOM-FO fits VIGPLUS-24, VIGPLUS-72 or a Vigilon Plus Network node. Its SW1 switches set the domain address and communication speed. Both multimode cards use dedicated backplane slots.

What fibre specification applies to the multimode pair?

VIG-NC-FO and VIG-NC-DOM-FO use 62.5/125µm multimode fibre at 820nm, with ST sockets directly on the cards. Available baud settings are 19.2K, 38.4K, 115.2K and 230.4K. VIG-NC-DOM-FO supports fibre distances up to 2 km between nodes of the smaller networks. Patch leads must be the correct length between card and patch panel. Booster links are required where the fibre distance exceeds 750 m, with P2 serving End 1 and P3 serving End 2. Both cards fit dedicated host backplane slots.

Where is the domain card fitted and configured?

VIG-NC-DOM-FO fits VIGPLUS-24, VIGPLUS-72 and the Vigilon Plus Network node. VIG-NC-FO and VIG-NC-DOM-FO use dedicated backplane slots, with fibre leads connected directly to ST sockets on each card. SW1 on VIG-NC-DOM-FO sets the domain address, from 1 to 64, and the baud rate. Available speeds are 19.2K, 38.4K, 115.2K and 230.4K. An EN host requires MCC V4.16 or later with factory-fitted chip 2211-141; the BS option requires chip 2211-142 and MCC V3.90 or later.
