Description

The Gent VIG-NPORT-100 is an RS232 to IP device for a Vigilon domain bridge. It is sold as a single unit, with two units required for each link. A converter joins each network node's domain IO card to the dedicated computer network through an RJ45 patch lead. Each converter has a mains-fed PSU and a 15 m limit on its serial connection to the network node. The customer supplies the IP addresses, with two network ports and two patch leads needed for the link. The serial connection uses RxD, GND and TxD terminals. This is the NPORT 100 option in the Vigilon Plus network arrangement.

VIG-NPORT-100 is the Gent NPORT 100 RS232 to IP device, supplied as one unit. Two units are required per link. In the Vigilon Plus domain-bridge arrangement, one converter connects to the domain IO card at each end of a dedicated computer network.

The converter has RxD, GND and TxD serial connections on the panel side and an RJ45 patch connection on the network side. The serial connection between the network node and its converter has a 15 m maximum length, with the domain IOC set to 19200. A mains supply feeds the converter assembly's PSU.

The customer supplies the IP addresses. The two-end arrangement requires two network ports and two patch cables as well as the two NPORT units. These requirements describe the complete link; the VIG-NPORT-100 order code supplies a single unit.

Domain bridging connects two or more Vigilon Plus networks so events can be displayed at control panels or network nodes in the connected networks. NPORT provides the computer-network connection in this arrangement.
