Overview
What it is and how it fits the system.
The 13270-02LB is a 2-zone conventional fire alarm control panel from the Xenex range, EN54-rated and supplied less batteries. Each zone carries up to 3mA load, with sounder circuits rated 500mA each to a combined maximum of 1A. It supports 72-hour standby followed by 30 minutes of alarm load using 2 x 12V sealed lead-acid batteries (2.1Ah to 3.4Ah), fed via a 5A fused spur unit.
Technical overview
The 13270-02LB is a two-zone conventional fire alarm control panel from the Xenex range, certified to EN54 and shipped without batteries. It drives detection and sounder circuits across two zones on conventional radial wiring using standard two-core cable, and is designed for indoor installation.
Backup power comes from a pair of 12V sealed lead-acid batteries, which the panel is engineered to sustain for a 72-hour standby period followed by around 30 minutes at full alarm load, depending on how the system is loaded. Mains connection is made through a fused spur.
Certification covers both EN54-2 for control and indicating equipment and EN54-4 for the power supply, carrying BSI approval KM 553763 under certificate 0086-CPD-553764. The design follows the 1997 editions of those standards together with their later amendments.
The panel works with a broad set of conventional field devices, including optical smoke, fixed-temperature and rate-of-rise heat detectors, manual call points, sounders and strobes. A repeat indicator and remote LED can be added where secondary annunciation is needed, and replacement mouldings and cover plates support ongoing servicing.
