The VIGPLUS-72 is the Gent Vigilon Plus control panel for one to six loops. The black panel is supplied with one loop card, an integral mains power supply and an integral printer with one paper roll fitted. Additional VIG-LPC-EN cards provide further loops, including the fifth and sixth loop positions.

Its integral mains-derived PSU works with batteries in an external battery box. Four 4015-602-YFR Power Sonic Flame Retardant 12V 21Ah batteries and a VS-BATTBOX-72 enclosure are required; neither the batteries nor the enclosure is included. Nominal charging current is 2 × 3.6A, with a maximum battery current of 6.2A over two battery sets when mains is disconnected.

The battery box can sit beneath the panel or in a remote position, up to 10m away with 1.5mm² MICC cable or 15m with 2.5mm² MICC cable. The panel weighs 10.2kg; the battery enclosure is separate. The 72-hour standby category requires a calculation for the proposed system load and alarm duration.

The Vigilon Plus range supports up to 200 devices per loop, subject to load, cable length and device distribution. A separate maximum of 512 fire detectors and/or manual call points applies per control panel. Networks support up to 31 control panels and nodes, each fitted with a network card, with up to 1.2km between copper-connected units or 2km with fibre cards.

The panel supports surface or semi-flush mounting. A battery box close fitted beneath the panel requires surface mounting. The range's 19-inch rack arrangement uses a 14U panel frame and a separate 9U battery-box frame. The range provides USB for commissioning and SD storage for configuration and event logs. VIGPLUS-72 is LPCB approved to EN 54-2 and EN 54-4.

FAQs

How does VIGPLUS-72 reach six loops?

The panel is supplied with one loop card and an integral printer with one paper roll fitted. Additional VIG-LPC-EN cards provide further circuits, up to six loops in total, including the fifth and sixth loop positions. The Vigilon Plus range supports up to 200 devices per loop, subject to electrical load, cable length and device distribution. A separate maximum of 512 fire detectors and/or manual call points applies to each control panel. The Battery Standby and Loop Load Calculator assesses the proposed loop loads and standby requirement.

Are the VIGPLUS-72 batteries and battery box included?

The VIGPLUS-72 requires four 4015-602-YFR Power Sonic Flame Retardant 12V 21Ah batteries and a VS-BATTBOX-72 battery enclosure. Neither the batteries nor the enclosure is included with the panel. The external enclosure can sit beneath the panel or in a remote position, within 10m using 1.5mm² MICC cable or 15m using 2.5mm² MICC cable. A box close fitted beneath the panel requires surface mounting. The Battery Standby and Loop Load Calculator assesses the standby and alarm loads for the complete system.

Where can the VIGPLUS-72 battery box be mounted?

The battery enclosure can be mounted beneath the panel or in a remote position. Maximum cable distances are 10m with 1.5mm² MICC cable and 15m with 2.5mm² MICC cable. The control panel weighs 10.2kg; the separate battery enclosure needs its own mounting support. A battery box close fitted beneath the control panel requires surface mounting. The VS-BATTBOX-72 enclosure and four required 4015-602-YFR batteries are not included with VIGPLUS-72. The range also has a separate 9U battery-box frame for 19-inch rack mounting.

What networking does the VIGPLUS-72 use?

Vigilon Plus networks use copper or fibre network cards. A network can contain up to 31 control panels and network nodes, with a network card fitted at every participating unit. Maximum distances between panels or nodes are 1.2km using copper cards and 2km using fibre cards. Card selection depends on the network design and cable routes. Separate networks connect through domain-bridge equipment and configuration. The range provides USB for commissioning and SD storage for configuration and event logs.

How should the 72-hour standby requirement be checked?

VIGPLUS-72 is in the 72-hour standby category; the system load determines the achieved standby and alarm duration. The Battery Standby and Loop Load Calculator assesses the proposed loop devices and their alarm loads, including a 30-minute alarm period after standby. This panel requires four 4015-602-YFR batteries in a VS-BATTBOX-72 enclosure, both supplied separately. Nominal battery charging current is 2 × 3.6A. With mains disconnected, the maximum battery current is 6.2A over the two battery sets.
