Description

The Gent VIG-LPC is a loop card for VIG1-24 and VIG1-72 Vigilon EN addressable fire panels, for use as a replacement for the same older type of loop card. It supports 3400 and 34000 devices and pre-VAD S-Quad devices on circuits with up to 1km of cable, counting the main loop and all device spurs. The card is for four-loop and six-loop Vigilon panels. It must not replace a VIG-LPC-EN on a circuit using a 2km loop or compliant Part 23 devices. Panels fitted with this card cannot be tested with the Loop Diagnostic Tool. The panel status menu identifies the older build as Loop card (1). Supplied as one loop card.

The VIG-LPC fits the VIG1-24 and VIG1-72 EN Vigilon panels and provides the older loop-card build for replacement work. Its applications include 3400 and 34000 devices and pre-VAD S-Quad devices. The supported older circuit mixes include S-Quad sensors, S4 interfaces and earlier S-Cubed strobe devices.

The total cable length is up to 1km. This includes the main loop and every spur carrying system devices. VIG-LPC is a replacement for the same card build; it must not replace a VIG-LPC-EN where the circuit uses the newer card’s 2km cable allowance or compliant Part 23 devices.

The Loop Diagnostic Tool cannot diagnose a Vigilon panel fitted with VIG-LPC. In the panel’s Info, Status, Card menu, the older build is identified as Loop card (1). The older card does not show the resistance and L values associated with the newer loop-card build.

For EN Vigilon systems using S4 low voltage interfaces, the loop firmware must be at least V4.35 and the main control firmware at least V4.37. These are system software requirements for that interface application.

Which panels and devices does VIG-LPC support?

The VIG-LPC fits VIG1-24 and VIG1-72 EN Vigilon fire alarm panels in the four-loop and six-loop formats. It supports 3400 and 34000 devices and pre-VAD S-Quad devices, including the older mixed circuits used with earlier S-Cubed strobes. It is a replacement for the same older loop-card build. The total circuit cable allowance is 1km, including device spurs. VIG-LPC and VIG-LPC-EN are separate card builds with different circuit capabilities and replacement limits.

Does the 1km cable limit include spurs?

Yes. The 1km allowance covers the main loop together with all spur cables that carry system devices. It is the total circuit cable length, so a spur forms part of that allowance even though it branches away from the main loop. This applies to VIG-LPC in its supported VIG1-24 and VIG1-72 EN Vigilon panel applications. The older card is for the same-build replacement application and does not provide the newer VIG-LPC-EN card’s 2km circuit allowance.

Can VIG-LPC replace VIG-LPC-EN?

VIG-LPC is for replacement of the same older loop-card build. It must not replace a VIG-LPC-EN where the circuit uses a loop length of up to 2km or has compliant Part 23 devices. Its own circuit allowance is up to 1km, including the main loop and device spurs. The VIG-LPC application covers VIG1-24 and VIG1-72 EN addressable fire alarm panels with older device families, including 3400, 34000 and pre-VAD S-Quad devices.

Can I use the Loop Diagnostic Tool with VIG-LPC?

The Loop Diagnostic Tool cannot diagnose a Vigilon panel fitted with VIG-LPC. The panel’s Info, Status, Card menu identifies the older loop-card build as Loop card (1); Loop card (2) identifies the newer VIG-LPC-EN build. The older card does not display the resistance and L values shown for the newer card. These distinctions apply to identifying the card build in the panel as well as to the available diagnostic information.

What software is required for S4 low voltage interfaces?

For an EN Vigilon system using S4 low voltage interfaces, the loop firmware must be at least V4.35 and the main control firmware at least V4.37. The two requirements apply to different cards in the panel: the loop processor and the main control card. VIG-LPC remains the older 1km card for its supported replacement application. The system software requirement does not change the card’s cable allowance or its restriction on replacing newer VIG-LPC-EN circuits.
