Description
The Gent VIG-LPC-EN is a loop card for VIGPLUS-24 and VIGPLUS-72 fire panels. Each additional loop needs a card in its allocated backplane slot. A loop supports up to 200 devices, with the actual count set by cable length, alarm load and where the devices are placed. Supported 34000 circuits using 1.5mm² cable have a 1 km limit, including the main loop and all connected spurs. The card must not replace an older card on a loop with 3400 devices. The VIG-LPC-EN and COMPACT-LPC-EN range excludes the legacy 34450 four-channel interface. The VIG-LPC-EN card measures 130mm by 100mm by 15mm.
VIG-LPC-EN is the post-March 2014 loop card for Vigilon four- and six-loop panels, including VIGPLUS-24 and VIGPLUS-72. The panel is supplied with one loop card and each additional loop requires another. On the Plus backplane, P3 to P6 serve loops 1 to 4. P7 and P8 can serve loops 5 and 6 on VIGPLUS-72, subject to the panel's card allocation.

A VIG-LPC-EN loop supports up to 200 devices. The usable number depends on cable length, electrical loading and the position of alarm devices. Loop length includes all connected spur wiring. Concentrating alarm devices in one section of the circuit requires a different design calculation from distributing them along the cable.
With 1.5mm² cable, a circuit containing supported 34000 devices, including a mixture with S4 and S3 devices, has a 1km limit. VIG-LPC-EN must not be fitted as a replacement where 3400 devices are installed. The VIG-LPC-EN and COMPACT-LPC-EN range does not support the legacy 34450 four-channel interface. That code is distinct from S4-34450.
The Battery Standby and Loop load calculator determines working loop length, loading and battery requirements for the proposed installation. The calculation accounts for the device mix, cable route and distribution of alarm loads.
VIG-LPC-EN measures 130mm by 100mm by 15mm. The post-March 2014 build carries the SEC-GEN LOOP CARD marking and a firmware label. The panel identifies it as Loop card (2). The Vigilon Loop Diagnostic Tool diagnoses connected circuits in the post-March 2014 EN loop-card range.

FAQs
Which panels use the VIG-LPC-EN loop card?
VIG-LPC-EN is the card for Vigilon four- and six-loop panels, including VIGPLUS-24 and VIGPLUS-72. The Compact panel uses the separate COMPACT-LPC-EN. On the Plus backplane, P3 to P6 provide loops 1 to 4. VIGPLUS-72 can also use P7 and P8 for loops 5 and 6, following the panel's card allocation. Each extra loop requires its own card. Check the host model and the intended loop position when specifying an expansion or replacing an existing loop card.
How many devices can one VIG-LPC-EN loop support?
Each loop supports up to 200 devices, with the working count dependent on electrical load, cable length and the positions of alarm devices. A design with many alarm devices concentrated in one section needs a different calculation from a design with that load spread along the circuit. Use the Battery Standby and Loop load calculator for the actual site arrangement. The 200-device figure is a maximum to check during design, alongside the proposed cable route and device mix.
When does the 1km loop limit apply?
The loop limit is 1km with 1.5mm² cable where supported 34000 devices are installed, including a mixture with S4 and S3 devices. Count the main loop cable and every connected spur in that length. The card must not replace an older card on a circuit with 3400 devices. The VIG-LPC-EN and COMPACT-LPC-EN range excludes the legacy 34450 interface. The Battery Standby and Loop load calculator assesses the device mix, cable route and alarm load to determine the working design.
Can VIG-LPC-EN replace an older VIG-LPC?
VIG-LPC-EN must not replace an older card on a loop with 3400 devices. The VIG-LPC-EN and COMPACT-LPC-EN range also excludes the legacy 34450 four-channel interface; this is distinct from S4-34450. Supported 34000 circuits using 1.5mm² cable have a 1km limit, including mixtures with S4 and S3 devices. Loop length includes the main circuit and all connected spurs. The working device count depends on electrical load, cable length and the distribution of alarm devices around the loop.
How can the fitted loop-card build be identified?
VIG-LPC-EN is the post-March 2014 build with the SEC-GEN LOOP CARD marking and a firmware label, 2211-187, V4.xx. The panel identifies this build as Loop card (2); the older VIG-LPC is Loop card (1). VIG-LPC-EN measures 130mm by 100mm by 15mm. The Vigilon Loop Diagnostic Tool applies to the post-March 2014 EN loop-card range. The Battery Standby and Loop load calculator assesses the connected devices, cable route and alarm-device distribution when determining the working loop design.
