The S4-34807 is the red keyswitch MCP for fire applications. Insert an operating key and turn it clockwise to the stop position to activate it. Reverse the key movement to restore its normal position. The fascia uses O for off and I for on.

The keyswitch range has a green LED for status and find-device indication, with a red LED for active or fire indication. It operates from the addressable loop at 35-48 V, with built-in short circuit isolation. The removable terminal block accepts conductors up to 2.5 mm2. Maintain loop cable earth continuity through the earth strap or the back box earth point.

The red S4-34807 is supplied without a back box and weighs 128 g in that configuration. S4-34895 is the separate red surface box. For semi-flush mounting, fit a standard electrical box into the wall before securing the keyswitch assembly. The keyswitch range measures 88 x 88 x 32 mm, with a surface-mounted depth of 66 mm.

Two operating keys and one opening key are supplied with the keyswitch assembly. The opening key releases the front fascia from its bottom edge. Replacement operating keys are available as S4-34499 in packs of two. The red keyswitch is for fire applications; the blue S4-34418 is the separate plant interface.

The keyswitch range uses ABS engineering plastic and has an estimated IP43 rating in its standard configuration. Its technical standards are EN 54-17 and EN 54-18. Operating temperature is -25°C to +70°C. If the S4-34807 is installed in a 3400 system, both LCC and LPC software must be version 3.30 or later.

FAQs

How is the S4-34807 activated and returned to normal?

Insert one of the operating keys into the S4-34807 and turn it clockwise until it reaches the stop. The red LED flashes in the active position. Reverse the key movement to return the keyswitch to its normal operating position. The fascia marks the switch positions with O for off and I for on. The keyswitch range also has a green LED for status and find-device indication. Two operating keys are supplied, with replacement keys available as S4-34499.

Is the S4-34807 the red or blue keyswitch?

The S4-34807 is the red keyswitch MCP for fire applications. The blue keyswitch is a separate product, S4-34418, for plant interface applications. The red S4-34807 comes without a back box, with S4-34895 available separately for surface mounting. It is operated by inserting a key and turning it clockwise to the stop, then reversing that movement to return to normal. Its package contains two operating keys and a separate opening key, while S4-34499 provides two spare operating keys.

Which back box and mounting options suit the S4-34807?

The S4-34807 is supplied without a back box. The red S4-34895 box is available for surface mounting, while a standard electrical box can be recessed into the wall for semi-flush installation. Fit that electrical box before attaching the keyswitch assembly. The keyswitch range has an 88 x 88 mm body, 32 mm deep, and reaches 66 mm deep when surface mounted. The S4-34807 weighs 128 g without a back box and is secured to the box with two supplied long screws.

Which keys are supplied with the S4-34807?

The keyswitch package includes two operating keys and one opening key. Use an operating key to turn the S4-34807 to its active position and back to normal. The opening key has a separate purpose: it releases the front fascia so it can be lifted away from the bottom edge for access during installation. Spare operating keys are available as S4-34499, supplied in packs of two. The red keyswitch assembly is supplied without its surface back box, which is ordered separately as S4-34895.

What supply and software does the S4-34807 require?

The S4-34807 takes its power from the addressable loop. The keyswitch range operates at 35-48 V and has built-in short circuit isolation. Its removable terminal block accepts conductors up to 2.5 mm2, and loop cable earth continuity is maintained through the earth strap or the back box earth point. If this keyswitch MCP is installed in a 3400 system, the LCC and LPC software must both be version 3.30 or later. Activation is by the operating key.
