The S4-34800 uses a non-resettable glass element that is replaced after emergency operation. S4-34891 supplies replacement glass in packs of ten.

S4-34800 accepts two optional covers: S4-34892, a lift-up protective cover supplied in packs of twenty, and S4-34896, an IP rated plastic protective cover. With S4-34892 fitted, lift the cover before pressing the centre of the call point. S4-34842 is the glass-element variant supplied with a protective cover.

The back box is supplied separately. Use S4-34895 for surface mounting, or a standard electrical box recessed into the wall for semi-flush mounting. The standard MCP assembly measures 88 x 88 x 21 mm, with a depth of 57 mm when surface mounted. Two supplied long screws secure the assembly to the box.

The standard S4 MCP range is powered from the addressable loop at 35-48 V and includes short circuit isolation. Its removable terminal block accepts conductors up to 2.5 mm2. Carry the loop cable earth continuity through the earth strap or the back box earth point. The range has an estimated IP43 rating in its standard configuration and operates from -25°C to +70°C.

The standard MCP range has a green LED for status and find-device indication, with a red LED and yellow tab for fire indication. A supplied test key allows operation to be tested in place: expose the keyhole and turn the key clockwise by a quarter turn, then reverse the action to restore normal operation. S4-34800 is an indoor manual call point approved to EN 54-11 and EN 54-17.

FAQs

How is the S4-34800 operated and restored?

Press the centre of the S4-34800 glass element to activate the call point. If S4-34892 is fitted, lift that cover first. The standard MCP range signals activation with a flashing red LED and a visible yellow tab. After emergency use, replace the glass element. S4-34891 replacement glass is supplied in packs of ten. The test key opens the front fascia and also allows the call point to be tested in place.

Which optional covers fit the S4-34800?

The S4-34800 accepts S4-34892 as an optional lift-up protective cover and S4-34896 as an optional IP rated plastic protective cover. S4-34892 has a top hinge and a see-through face, and is supplied in packs of twenty. With this lift-up cover fitted, raise it before pressing the centre of the call point. The call point is supplied without a back box; S4-34895 is its separate red surface back box. S4-34842 is the covered glass-element variant.

Which back box does the S4-34800 use?

The S4-34800 is supplied without a back box. S4-34895 is the separate red surface back box for this call point. The standard MCP range also supports semi-flush installation on a standard electrical box recessed into the wall. Two supplied long screws secure the call point assembly to the chosen box. The common assembly measures 88 x 88 x 21 mm; its depth is 57 mm when surface mounted. Both protective cover options are separate optional accessories.

How is the S4-34800 tested in place?

The S4-34800 can be tested with the key supplied with the standard MCP range. Slide the keyhole cover upwards, insert the key and turn it clockwise by a quarter turn. This lowers the glass and yellow tab to activate the call point. Reverse the movement to restore normal operation. The standard MCP range provides red LED and yellow-tab fire indication, with a green LED for status and find-device indication. The test uses the call point's concealed keyhole.

How does the S4-34800 connect to the loop?

The S4-34800 takes power from the addressable loop. The standard S4 MCP range operates at 35-48 V and includes short circuit isolation. Connect the loop wiring to the removable terminal block, which accepts conductors up to 2.5 mm2. Keep the loop cable earth continuous through the earth strap or the earth point in the back box. The range uses a green LED for status and finding a device, while a red LED and yellow tab indicate activation.
