Description
The Gent S4-34741-01 is an angle bracket with base for one S4 beam sensor head. It holds either the S4-34741 transmitter or S4-34742 receiver and lets the head turn in two axes to face the other end of the beam. With the pivot stop in its centre position, it allows up to ±25° movement in each axis. The screws set the angle and the locknuts hold that setting. The bracket and base measure 145mm high, 106mm wide and 130mm deep, and weigh about 620g. An S4-34740 pair uses one bracket and base at each end, with the sensors supplied separately. The assembly mounts on a metal box fixed to a solid wall.
The S4-34741-01 combines the angle bracket and sensor base used to mount an S4-34741 transmitter or S4-34742 receiver. The head fits to the base after the bracket is installed. The S4-34740 pair uses a transmitter and receiver at opposite ends of the beam path, each on its own bracket and base assembly.

The bracket moves in the X and Y axes. With the pivot stop in the central factory position, adjustment is up to ±25° in each axis. Moving the pivot stop to another position allows a wider angle. The adjuster screws aim the base towards the opposite head, and the locknuts secure the final settings.
The angle bracket mounts on a metal box fixed to a solid wall. Its base connects the sensor to the loop. During commissioning, the head's LED display shows the signal level while the bracket is adjusted. Alignment is completed with receiver AutoGain at the panel after both ends have been adjusted.
The assembled bracket and base measure 145mm high by 106mm wide by 130mm deep and weigh approximately 620g. The S4-34741-03 parallel bracket with base provides another mounting option, with up to ±8° adjustment in each axis. The sensor head is a separate item from either bracket assembly.
Supplied with an angle bracket and wired sensor base, a round metal cover plate, a black gasket, two loose screws and a four-way terminal strip.

FAQs
Which beam sensors fit this angle bracket?
The S4-34741-01 includes the base used by either an S4-34741 transmitter or an S4-34742 receiver. Each assembly carries one sensor head. The two heads are also sold as the S4-34740 beam pair, with the brackets and bases supplied separately. The transmitter and receiver face each other across the beam path, so each end needs its own mounting assembly. The bracket adjusters aim the fitted head towards the opposite device during commissioning, and locknuts secure the setting.
How much adjustment does the angle bracket allow?
With the pivot stop in the central factory position, the angle bracket allows up to ±25° movement in the X and Y axes. The pivot stop can be moved to another position to obtain a wider angle. The adjuster screws set the direction of the base towards the opposite beam head, after which the locknuts secure the settings. During beam alignment, the sensor's LED display shows the signal level as the bracket is adjusted in each axis.
How does this differ from the parallel bracket?
The S4-34741-01 angle bracket provides up to ±25° adjustment in each axis with the pivot stop centred. The S4-34741-03 parallel bracket provides up to ±8° in each axis and uses fixed and adjustable plates. Both include a sensor base and accept either the transmitter or receiver. The angle assembly is 145mm high, 106mm wide and 130mm deep, at approximately 620g. The parallel assembly is 152mm in diameter and 27mm deep, at approximately 600g.
How many angle brackets does a beam pair use?
An S4-34740 pair has two heads, and each head needs its own bracket and sensor base. Using angle brackets at both ends therefore requires two S4-34741-01 assemblies. Each assembly carries either the red-retainer S4-34741 transmitter or the black-retainer S4-34742 receiver. The S4-34741-03 parallel bracket with base is the other mounting choice. The brackets aim the heads towards each other, and alignment is completed by adjusting both ends and running receiver AutoGain from the panel.
How is the angle bracket set during alignment?
The bracket is mounted on a metal box fixed to a solid wall, with the sensor fitted to its base. The X and Y adjuster screws direct the head towards the device at the opposite end of the path. The sensor's LED display shows the signal level as alignment improves. The pivot stop and adjuster locknuts secure the angle settings. Both beam heads are adjusted during commissioning, with final AutoGain run on the receiver from the panel controls.
