The Gent S4-34742 is the beam sensor receiver, with black retainer, of the S-Quad loop-powered beam detection system, providing linear detection where point detection is not practical or economic. Operating at 35-41V over a 2 to 100m path, it supports up to 16 beam pairs per loop and is certified to EN54 Part 12 and Part 17. The receiver is LPCB approved under 042bh/01 and supports approved states 0, 1, 2 and 3.
Technical overview
The S4-34742 is the Beam Sensor Receiver (black retainer) element of the Gent S-Quad loop-powered beam detection system for linear beam detection. This component forms the receiver half of a beam pair, designed for installation where point detection is impractical or uneconomical, operating over transmission paths from 2 to 100 metres. It is powered directly from the fire alarm loop within a 35-41V range, supporting up to 16 beam pairs per loop without requiring local power supplies.
Certified to EN54 Parts 12 and 17, the S4-34742 holds LPCB approval under reference 042bh/01 and recognises four approved states (0, 1, 2, 3) for system integration. It operates reliably in ambient temperatures from -10°C to +50°C and tolerates storage conditions between -20°C and +70°C, with humidity resistance up to 95% non-condensing within the +5°C to +45°C range. The unit requires a separate mounting bracket and base, such as the S4-34741-01 or S4-34741-03, for installation. Accessories including obscuration test card sets (S4-34741-50) and light shields (S4-34741-99) are available for maintenance and environmental adaptation.
