Description
The Gent S4-34741-50 is an obscuration test card set for the S4 beam sensor pair. It is used after the transmitter and receiver have been aligned and commissioned, to test the response when the beam is obscured. The fire test uses a 50% card in receiver states 0 and 1, or a 25% card in states 2 and 3. The chosen state also sets how the pair responds to a fully blocked beam. The card is placed in the beam path, with a smoke pole and tape used to hold it in position. A fire test gives an indication at the receiver and the panel. Test responses depend on the receiver's configured smoke sensitivity state.

For states 0 and 1, the fire test uses a 50% obscuration card. For states 2 and 3, it uses a 25% card. States 0 and 2 have a fault test that blocks the beam with cardboard for 40 seconds. In states 1 and 3, a complete blockage for 40 seconds forms a fire test.
The test card can be held on a smoke pole with adhesive tape and positioned across the beam. The receiver is the only head that indicates fire locally; the fire alarm panel also indicates fire.
Complete beam alignment and commissioning before carrying out the card tests. Alignment uses the signal LEDs on both heads, with bracket adjustments at each end and final receiver AutoGain from the panel. The card test then exercises the pair at its selected receiver state.
