Description

The Gent S4-34491 is a pack of five DIN rail brackets for S4 low voltage interface modules. The brackets fit the S4-34410, S4-34420 and S4-34450, mounting a module on a rail inside other equipment. The module engages with the bracket and locks in place; the bracket then clips onto the DIN rail. Each bracket is 95mm high. For this mounting arrangement, the rail must be electrically connected to the loop cable screen through the earth terminal. The loop screen must also continue through each interface module. We recommend these brackets when an interface is being installed inside another equipment housing.

The S4-34491 pack contains five DIN rail brackets for the S4-34410, S4-34420 and S4-34450 low voltage interface modules. The brackets mount a module inside another equipment housing. These three modules are supplied without an enclosure.

The S4-34491 pack contains five DIN rail brackets for the S4-34410, S4-34420 and S4-34450 low voltage interface modules. The brackets mount a module inside another equipment housing. These three modules are supplied without an enclosure.

The module engages with the bracket and locks in place. The bracket hooks onto the DIN rail and clips into position. Each bracket is 95mm high.

The DIN rail must be electrically connected to the loop cable screen through the earth terminal. The loop screen must continue through each interface module, and the loop and switch input cable screens must connect to an earth terminal where used.

We recommend the brackets for an interface installed inside other equipment. For a module needing its own housing, the cost-effective M200E-SMB surface box and the small metal S4-34492 are single-module options. The S4-34490 large plastic box suits a fully wired S4-34450, while the S4-34496 houses six interfaces together.

FAQs

Which Gent modules do the S4-34491 brackets fit?

The brackets fit the Gent S4-34410 single input module, the S4-34420 with one output and one input, and the four channel S4-34450. These modules are supplied without an enclosure. A bracket holds the module on a DIN rail inside another equipment housing, which is where we recommend this mounting option. Each bracket is 95mm high, and the pack contains five. The rail must connect electrically to the loop cable screen through the earth terminal.

How does the bracket fit to the module and rail?

The module engages with the bracket and locks in place. The bracket then hooks onto the DIN rail and clips into position. This arrangement mounts an S4-34410, S4-34420 or S4-34450 inside another equipment housing. Each bracket is 95mm high. The DIN rail must be electrically connected to the loop cable screen through the earth terminal, and that screen must continue through the interface module. The pack contains five brackets under the S4-34491 order code.

Does the DIN rail need a connection to the loop cable screen?

Yes. With an interface module mounted on a DIN rail, the rail must connect electrically to the loop cable screen through the earth terminal. The screen must also continue through each interface module. Loop and switch input cable screens must connect to an earth terminal where used. These requirements apply to the rail mounting arrangement for the S4-34410, S4-34420 and S4-34450. The S4-34491 brackets hold these modules inside another equipment housing and are supplied in packs of five.

When are the brackets used instead of an interface enclosure?

The brackets mount an interface inside other equipment with DIN rail space. We recommend them for that arrangement. A module needing its own enclosure can use a surface box such as the cost-effective M200E-SMB or the small metal S4-34492, our usual choice. The large plastic S4-34490 suits a fully wired four channel S4-34450. The S4-34496 houses six interfaces together. The S4-34490 and S4-34492 take a module directly and provide termination points for incoming cables.

How many brackets are supplied and how high is each one?

The S4-34491 pack contains five brackets, each 95mm high. They fit the S4-34410, S4-34420 and S4-34450 low voltage interface modules. The module locks into a bracket, and the bracket clips onto a DIN rail inside another equipment housing. The rail must connect electrically to the loop cable screen through the earth terminal. The loop screen must continue through the interface module, with the loop and switch input cable screens connected to earth where used.
