Description
The Gent S3-BASE-SW is a white shallow mounting base for S-Cubed Mark 3 Type A (IP21) devices, supplied in packs of five. It is an optional way to reduce the depth of the complete device from 90mm on the standard deep base to 75mm. The shallow base itself is 25mm deep and made from ABS. A single opening at its centre takes the cable into the assembly. Fix it to a flat wall or metal box, with the arrow facing upwards and at least 10cm of space below the ceiling for access to the locking screw. Clip the head into place and secure it with a self tapping screw. The device already includes its standard deep base.

The S3-BASE-SW is the white shallow base for the fourteen S-Cubed Mark 3 Type A (IP21) models. It is made from ABS and comes in packs of five. The standard deep base is included with the device; this optional base reduces the projection from the wall.
The complete device is 75mm deep with the shallow base and 90mm with the standard deep base. Excluding the projecting lens, those depths are 60mm and 75mm. The base portions measure 25mm and 40mm respectively.
Surface mount the base on a flat wall or metal box, leaving at least 10cm below the ceiling for access to the locking screw. Keep its arrow facing upwards. Open the central cable entry by removing the knockout or drilling at the centre indent. Route the cable through this opening, limit the wire tails to 10cm and avoid surplus incoming cable inside the assembly. Locate the head on the left clip, close it until the parts click together and secure it with a self tapping screw.
The compatible Type A (IP21) devices are for internal wall mounting in Gent Vigilon systems and must not be installed on external walls. The Environmentally Protected S3EP models come with their back box and front as one complete assembly and have no alternative base options.

How much shallower is the S3-BASE-SW than the standard base?
The shallow base reduces the complete device depth from 90mm to 75mm, a saving of 15mm. The base itself is 25mm deep, compared with 40mm for the standard deep base. Measured without the projecting lens, the device and base together are 60mm deep on the shallow base and 75mm on the deep base. The S3-BASE-SW is the optional white base for internal S-Cubed Mark 3 Type A (IP21) devices, supplied in packs of five.
Does an S-Cubed device need a separate shallow base?
The internal S-Cubed Mark 3 devices already include their standard deep base. The S3-BASE-SW is an optional alternative for a lower profile, reducing the assembled depth by 15mm. It is supplied as five white bases, with one base used for each device. S3-BASE-SR is the red alternative. How does the device head attach to the shallow base?
Locate the head on the clip at the left of the base, then bring it against the base until the two parts click together. A self tapping screw secures this assembly. Leave at least 10cm below the ceiling to reach that screw, and mount the base with its arrow pointing upwards. This fixing arrangement applies to both the white S3-BASE-SW and red S3-BASE-SR shallow bases. Each is made from ABS and supplied in a pack of five.
