The Xtralis VESDA VLF-250 is a very early warning aspirating smoke detector engineered to protect small, business-critical environments of less than 250 m2 (2,690 sq ft). This variant is supplied with a European language set and English display labels, runs on 24V DC nominal (18-30V DC) at 220mA, and carries an IP30 rating with mounting in upright, inverted or horizontal positions. Its sampling network supports pipe runs up to 1 x 25m or 2 x 15m to suit compact, high-value spaces.
Technical overview
The Xtralis VLF-250-00 is a very early warning aspirating smoke detector from the VESDA VLF range, designed to protect small, business-critical environments under 250 m². This variant features a European language set with English display labels and operates on 24V DC nominal (18-30V DC) at 220mA, drawing 295mA in alarm condition.
It carries an IP30 rating and supports mounting in upright, inverted or horizontal orientations, with dimensions of 256 mm x 183 mm x 92 mm and a weight of approximately 2 kg. The sampling network allows pipe runs of up to 1 x 25 m or 2 x 15 m, accommodating up to 12 sampling holes on a single line or six per branch on dual lines, and accepts both metric (25 mm) and American standard (IPS 21 mm) air inlet pipes.
Certifications include CCC, FM Class I Div II, ActiveFire (ISO/AS 7240-20), CE, UKCA, LPCB, VdS, NF, and EN 54-20. It provides three changeover relay outputs (Fire 1, Action, Fault) rated at 2A @ 30 VDC max, features screw terminals for 0.2-2.5 mm² conductors, and includes an RS232 programming port alongside a General Purpose Input interface for reset, disable, standby, alarm set functions and external input. Compatible accessories include the VIC-010, VIC-020, VIC-030 cards, VSP-005 filter cartridge, and VSP-722 aspirator assembly.
