The VIC-020 is the VESDA VLF Multi-function Control Card (MCC), an interface card for the VESDA VLF series of aspirating smoke detectors that expands the incoming and outgoing contacts a VLF can manage. It provides relay outputs rated at 2 A at 30 VDC and draws under 1 W from the detector at 24 VDC. The card weighs 0.08 kg and accepts conductors from 0.2 to 2.5 mm2 (30-12 AWG).

Technical overview

VIC-020 is the Xtralis VESDA VLF Multi-function Control Card (MCC), an interface card designed for the VESDA VLF series of aspirating smoke detectors. It expands the detector’s input and output capabilities by providing two additional relay outputs and one general purpose input with power monitoring. The card draws under 1 W from the detector at 24 VDC and weighs 0.08 kg, making it a low-power, compact addition to VLF systems.

It accepts conductors ranging from 0.2 to 2.5 mm² (30-12 AWG) and features relay outputs rated at 2 A at 30 VDC. The MCC includes an end-of-line resistor of 2.7 kΩ for MPO and GPI lines and is tested for operation between -10°C and 55°C, with the detector ambient temperature range specified as 0°C to 40°C and humidity tolerance from 5% to 95% non-condensing.

Certified to EN 54-20, CE - EMC and CPR, and AFNOR standards, the VIC-020 supports integration with VLF detectors by adding two relays and one GPI. Relay 1 outputs info alarm and main alarm 2 signals based on VLF blocking configuration, while the GPI provides status feedback for open circuit, short, or normal EOL conditions. Relay 2 is dedicated to main alarm 2 output. This card is recommended alongside the VIC-030, which adds MPO-controlled power output as an alternative variant.
