What it is and how it fits the system.

The VIG-BNG-RW is a BACnet/IP gateway assembly for Vigilon Plus and Compact Plus that represents devices on Vigilon fire alarm control panels as BACnet objects to a BACnet client, with support for controls and command builds. It conforms to the BACnet Standard (ANSI/ASHRAE 135-2004) including Annex J for IP, and supports up to 15 FACPs or 15,000 objects. Powered from 24V DC at 270mA nominal with supervised battery back-up.

Technical overview

VIG-BNG-RW is a BACnet/IP interface assembly for Vigilon Plus and Compact Plus fire alarm control panels. It represents devices on these panels as BACnet objects to a BACnet client, and in this read/write variant the client can also write to selected objects to drive controls and command builds. The assembly conforms to the BACnet Standard (ANSI/ASHRAE 135-2004), including Annex J for IP connectivity, and can act as a foreign device when communicating with a third-party BBMD.

It supports up to 15 FACPs or 15,000 objects and is powered from 24V DC at 270mA nominal with supervised battery back-up. Operating temperature ranges from 32°F to 120°F (0°C to 49°C) with humidity tolerance of 93% non-condensing at 30°C. Where several panels are involved, multiple gateways can be deployed to reach across larger networks.

Objects can be brought in by auto-discovery or data-file import, and configuration is handled through PC programming with the BACnet Import generator tool. For a standalone EN54 panel, integration requires an S4-34440-12 interface. Physical wiring and terminal connections are detailed in the installation manual.
