Description

The Gent VIG-BNG-RW is the read-write BACnet gateway assembly for Vigilon and Compact fire alarm systems, with Binary values for Command Build operation. It links a BACnet client to an EN54 Vigilon system. For the VIG-BNG/VIG-BNG-RW pair, the Compact network-node fitting uses CARD 1 for the carrier and CARD 2 for the network card. This shared route uses RS232 port 1 at 19200 baud, RJ45 Ethernet to the head end and the node's 24V supply. Select Read/Write in the BACnet Import Generator to match this board and set the site mapping and scanning options required for the connected fire system.

The VIG-BNG-RW is Gent's read-write BACnet gateway assembly for Vigilon and Compact systems. Its Binary values are used for Command Build operation. Select Read/Write in the BACnet Import Generator when this board is fitted, then prepare the gateway files for the particular network and panels.

The Read/Write configuration offers mapping and scanning choices for the head-end display. These include sector alarm status, sensor sensitivity STATE and Command Build mapping. The gateway can therefore be configured to pass the selected status information to the head end. Use the required options for the installation and check the resulting indications during commissioning.

The Read/Write Preferences tab also allows prefire and subfault events to be selected for display at the head end. These choices form part of the gateway configuration. Identify which indications the receiving system requires before saving the settings, then check them as part of the completed integration.

For the VIG-BNG/VIG-BNG-RW pair, the Vigilon Compact network-node installation uses a shared fitting and wiring arrangement. In that arrangement, the carrier fits P2, CARD 1, alongside the network card in P1, CARD 2. PB6 terminals TX1, RX1 and 0V connect to J4, NUP A, on the gateway, using RS232 port 1 at 19200 baud and Standard Mode. RJ45 Ethernet connects at J3 ENET; the 100 ohm cable has a maximum run of 100m. The separate supply runs from PB15, 24V and 0V, to the gateway's 24V IN terminals.

VIG-BNG and VIG-BNG-RW require 24V DC at 270mA and operate from 0°C to 49°C, with 93% non-condensing humidity at 30°C. Both use Vigilon 3217 and BACnet 135-2004 Annex J for IP. Gateway files are prepared with the BACnet Import Generator. Give gateways unique network numbers and IDs when they share a client and subnet, and provide the BBMD details when gateway and client use different subnets.
