BACnet Gateway Din Rail Mounting Kit for Mains powered interfaces S4-344402/12
fitted on din rail of S4 interface using VIG-BNG-DINKIT
Overview
What it is and how it fits the system.
The VIG-BNG is a BACnet Gateway Assembly providing a BACnet/IP interface between an EN54 Vigilon fire panel network and a third-party BACnet client, for Vigilon Plus and Compact Plus panels. It conforms to the BACnet Standard (ANSI/ASHRAE 135-2004) including Annex J for IP, and supports up to 15 panels/nodes, to a maximum of 15 FACPs or 15,000 objects. Powered from 24V DC at 270mA nominal with supervised battery back-up.
Technical overview
VIG-BNG is the BACnet Gateway assembly for Gent by Honeywell's Vigilon Plus range, linking an EN54 Vigilon fire panel network or a standalone panel to a third-party BACnet client over BACnet/IP. The gateway conforms to the BACnet Standard (Ansi/Ashrae 135-2004) including Annex J for IP, and can present itself as a foreign device to a third-party BBMD (BACnet Broadcast Management Device).
A single gateway serves up to 15 panels or nodes, to a ceiling of 15 FACPs or 15,000 objects, and multiple gateways can be deployed against larger networks. The client link runs over Ethernet on an RJ45 socket; on the fire system side, a standalone FACP connects over RS232 through a VIG-IOC-DOM input/output card, while a Vigilon network connects over RS232 to port 1 of a VIG-NET-NODE holding address 1. Host panels must be running MCC 4.41, NC 4.07 and IOC 4.12 software as a minimum.
Physically, the PCB assembly occupies the Loop Card 1 slot of a host panel — compatibility covers the Vigilon Plus and Compact Plus ranges — or mounts on the DIN rail of an S4-34440-12 mains powered interface using the VIG-BNG-DINKIT kit. Object handling offers auto discovery or data file import of everything on the connected FACPs, with a configurable selection of objects to trim the count, PC programming through the BACnet Import generator tool and support for Life Safety operations. Power draw is 24 V DC at 270 mA nominal with supervised battery back-up.
