Gent 803371.EX IS Optical Smoke Detector

803371.EX is an intrinsically safe optical smoke detector designed for fire detection systems requiring explosion protection. It operates across an 8 V DC to 42 V DC range and uses an optical sensing method to detect smoke particles. The device features a red flashing LED as its alarm indicator and is constructed from white ABS housing with a colour similar to RAL 9010.

It is rated IP 43 when installed with the base and optional base gasket, providing protection against solid objects over 1 mm and spraying water. The detector functions in ambient temperatures from -20 °C to +70 °C and tolerates up to 95% non-condensing relative humidity. Storage conditions extend from -25 °C to +75 °C. It carries EN 54-7 : 2006 certification for smoke detection performance, VdS approval G 204060, CE certification 0786 - CPD - 20104, and Ex-protection classification Ex ib IIC T4 Gb for use in intrinsically safe circuits.

Physical dimensions with base are Ø 117 mm and height 62 mm, with a weight of approximately 110 g. The detector requires the base (SKU 805590) for installation and must be used with a Z-System Zener barrier (SKU 764744 or 804744) to maintain its intrinsically safe status in ATEX II 2G environments. It is compatible with esserbus transponders and can be connected as a spur of the esserbus/esserbus-Plus loop. Testing should only be performed using a dedicated smoke detector device and test gas. Commissioning, testing and maintenance are supported by the 8000 service and programming software.
