Description
For smoke detection inside a hazardous area, 803371.EX is the optical member of the IS range of sensors, an Ex ib IIC T4 device reaching ATEX category II 2G when used with the safety barrier Part No. 764744.
One head covers max. 110 m² and mounts as high as max. 12 m, and detector quantity on a zone stays at 8 or fewer. Supply may be 8 V DC to 42 V DC, quiescent draw is 50 μ A @ 19 V DC, and Ui 21 V DC, Ii 252 mA, Io 10 mA and Ci 1 nF define the intrinsic safety envelope.

Bodywork is ABS, coloured white (similar to RAL 9010), at approx. 110 g; with base the outline is Ø 117 mm, H = 62 mm, and IP 43 is met with the base and optional base gasket in place. The galvanic isolator, Part No. 17740-30, must sit as close to the monitored Ex zone (Zone 1) as possible, ideally inside the housing of a Vigilon Mains powered Interface, either S4-34440-02 or S4-34440-12.
803371.EX is an optical smoke detector built for Intrinsically Safe Areas Detection inside the IS range of sensors from Gent by Honeywell. Explosion protection is Ex ib IIC T4; ATEX category II 2G is reached when the barrier Part No. 764744 is fitted, and examination is covered by TÜV 09 ATEX 554910.
Smoke sensing spans a monitored area of max. 110 m² from a mounting height of max. 12 m. The head draws a quiescent current of 50 μ A @ 19 V DC, works over 8 V DC to 42 V DC while its entity values are Ui 21 V DC, Ii 252 mA, Io 10 mA and Ci 1 nF.
Its ambient temperature is -20 °C to +70 °C, alongside the ATEX range value - 20 °C to + 70 °C; storage runs -25 °C to +75 °C, humidity ≤ 95% relative, non-condensing. Air velocity of 0 to 5.000 ft/min. is accepted, and alarm shows on a red LED, flashing.
The head fits detector base Part No. 805590, and Vigilon system compatibility comes from testing of the Ex sensors and isolators in this range. No more than 8 detectors are permitted on one zone. Standard specification is EN 54-7: 2006, with VdS approval G 204060 and CE certificate 0786 - CPD - 20104.
