The Xtralis VSP-980-W is a white 6mm standard sampling point for the VESDA-E VEA aspirating smoke detection series, connecting to 6mm microbore tubes to deliver pinpoint addressability. Designed for ceilings with a void, it is fully supervised, automatically cleaned by the detector, and supports blind mounting with a swivel joint for optimum tube orientation.

Technical overview

VSP-980-W, the white 6mm standard sampling point in the Xtralis VESDA-E VEA aspirating smoke detection series, is designed for a ceiling with a void: microbore tubes run in the void while the sampling points mount in the ceiling below. Documented applications span healthcare, offices, education, retail, prisons, apartments and residential buildings, and electrical cabinets.

Mounting is direct, screwed to the ceiling, or through a ceiling tile using the retainer housing. Blind mounting means the void needs no further access once the microbore tube is in place.

Monitoring runs from the detector outwards: the VEA unit continuously supervises each patented head and the microbore run serving it, with automated cleaning carried out from the detector as well. A swivel joint lets the tube meet the head at whatever angle the run requires.

Packs of 22 are ordered as VSP-980-W22, and the VSP-978 sample point head removal key is the matching ecosystem ordering item; physical wiring and connection detail sits in the installation manual rather than the datasheet.
