The Xtralis VSP-982-W is a white 6mm surface-mount sampling point for the VESDA-E VEA aspirating smoke detection series, designed for use where access to the ceiling void is limited. Fully supervised and automatically cleaned by the detector, it carries a swivel joint for optimum tube orientation and is also offered as VSP-982-W22 in a pack of 22.
Technical overview
VSP-982-W is the white, single-unit form of the Xtralis 6mm surface-mount sampling point for the VESDA-E VEA aspirating smoke detection series. Points of this pattern are produced in black or white, and in versions suiting 6mm and 4mm microbore tube; this part is the white 6mm fitting.
Surface mounting answers the case where the void above a ceiling cannot readily be reached: the point screws to the ceiling itself and the microbore tube lies along the surface, remaining visible within the area under protection.
Full supervision applies to both the patented head and the tube serving it, exercised from the VEA detector, and the detector also performs the cleaning of each point. Orientation of the tube can be adjusted through the head's swivel joint.
Where quantities warrant, the same white point is listed as a pack of 22 under VSP-982-W22, and the VSP-978 sample point head removal key occupies the same ordering list.
