Description
The Gent S4-700-34K adapter lets an S-Quad sensor fit an existing 34000 detector base on a Vigilon loop. It retains the fitted ceiling base and its wiring, with no separate S-Quad base needed. The adapter accepts the sensor head first, then the assembly locks into the ceiling base with a short clockwise turn. It fits 3-way and 4-way 34000 bases supporting a remote LED, but must not be used with a trim ring or flush surround. The white RAL 9010 ABS body measures 112mm in diameter and 35mm high. Compatible Vigilon panel card software and an LDT loop integrity test are required for the installation.

The S4-700-34K connects an S-Quad sensor head to an existing 34000 base on a Vigilon loop. The fitted base and its wiring stay in place, and the sensor attaches through the adapter without a separate S-Quad detector base. Compatible fittings include 3-way and 4-way 34000 bases supporting a remote LED.
The existing base must be free of a trim ring and must not be installed in a flush surround. Its internal contact plate must sit in the correct position for the adapter to engage. A displaced contact plate needs to be moved into position with a nonconductive tool before the assembly is fitted.
Fit the sensor to the adapter first: align the marks, insert the head and turn it clockwise by 10 degrees until the marks line up. Then align the combined sensor and adapter with the existing ceiling base, insert the assembly and turn it clockwise by 10 degrees to the stop.
The adapter has a white RAL 9010 ABS body, 112mm in diameter and 35mm high, with an operating temperature range of -20°C to +54°C. The Vigilon panel cards need compatible software for the S-Quad installation. After all the adapters have been fitted, test the loop for integrity with the Loop Diagnostic Tool, or LDT.

If the plate is displaced, move it into the correct position with a nonconductive tool. The existing base must also be free of a trim ring and must not sit in a flush surround. Once the contact plate is correctly positioned, align the assembly with the base before inserting and turning it.
What software compatibility and testing does an S4-700-34K installation need?
The Vigilon panel cards must have software compatible with the S-Quad sensor and adapter assembly operating on the loop. After all S-Quad sensors and adapters have been fitted to the existing 34K bases, the loop needs an integrity test using the Loop Diagnostic Tool, or LDT. The test applies to the completed loop installation. Retaining the old bases and wiring through the S4-700-34K adapter does not remove the requirement for compatible panel card software or this integrity test.
