Description
The Gent VIG-MIM-A3 is an A3 zonal and graphic mimic panel that shows fire locations on a zone grid or a custom building plan. Its 1536 red LEDs provide the display, with a default grid for up to 128 zones. The panel connects to the Vigilon device loop and has its own mains supply with battery standby. Custom plans can be mounted in portrait or landscape; the supplied zone overlay uses landscape. A front button provides lamp test and fault-buzzer cancellation. The panel is supplied in grey and needs two 6V 7Ah batteries, ordered separately. Preprinted and blank A3 overlay sheets support the site layout.
The VIG-MIM-A3 provides a zonal display or a custom graphic view of a building or protected area. Red LEDs behind the overlay identify the location of a fire. The zonal arrangement can also indicate fault and supervisory events. The default format is a grid for up to 128 zones.

The VIG-MIM-A3 provides a zonal display or a custom graphic view of a building or protected area. Red LEDs behind the overlay identify the location of a fire. The zonal arrangement can also indicate fault and supervisory events. The default format is a grid for up to 128 zones.
The display contains 1536 high-intensity red LEDs. Custom illumination can use shapes, text and a digital clock, with a site welcome message during normal operation. First-fire and last-fire flashing options are available. The custom layout can use portrait or landscape orientation; the supplied zonal overlay is for landscape mounting.
The panel connects to the Vigilon loop through a three-way loop connection and has a separate 230V mains supply. Standby uses two 6V 7Ah sealed lead-acid batteries, which are ordered separately. The panel provides 24 hours standby plus 30 minutes in alarm as supplied, upgradeable to 72 hours. For zonal operation, the host uses a short Loop Processor Card with EN software V4.19 or later, or BS software V3.90 or later.
The overlay pack includes a preprinted zone sheet, two blank A3 sheets and an LED spacing sheet. A magnetic strip holds the chosen overlay in place, and the outer cover secures it. The panel measures 375mm high, 508mm wide and 91mm deep, including the backbox. It has five top and five rear cable entry points.
The front button runs a lamp test and cancels the fault buzzer. During a lamp test, alternate LED blocks illuminate and the internal two-tone buzzer sounds. Changes to an existing custom mimic use its original design file: the saved layout is edited and uploaded to the panel. Without that design file, the custom configuration must be created again.

FAQs
Does the VIG-MIM-A3 show a zone grid or a building plan?
It can show either. The default zonal format provides a grid for up to 128 zones, while a custom overlay represents the building or a protected area. Red LEDs behind that overlay indicate the fire location. The panel contains 1536 LEDs, with custom shapes and text available through configuration. A custom plan can use portrait or landscape orientation. The supplied zonal overlay uses landscape, with location labels identifying the areas represented by the zone indications.
How is the VIG-MIM-A3 powered and connected?
The panel connects to the Vigilon device loop and uses its own 230V mains supply, with two 6V 7Ah sealed lead-acid batteries for standby. The batteries are ordered separately. Its loop connection is three-way, with the mains connection kept separate within the backbox. For zonal operation, the host panel uses a short Loop Processor Card with EN software V4.19 or later, or BS software V3.90 or later. Top and rear cable entry points are available for the installation.
Can an existing custom mimic layout be changed?
Yes, using the saved design file for that mimic. The saved design is edited to include the required event links and display shapes, then uploaded to the panel. The existing panel configuration cannot be downloaded as an editable replacement for that file. If the original design is unavailable, the custom layout and its event links need to be created again. The physical overlay is prepared around the LED matrix, using the spacing sheet to align the plan with the display.
What is included for making the A3 overlay?
The overlay pack contains a preprinted zonal sheet, two blank A3 sheets and an LED spacing sheet. The spacing sheet helps align a custom building plan with the LED matrix. A magnetic strip holds the selected overlay in position, and the outer cover secures it when fitted. The custom display can use portrait or landscape orientation. The supplied zonal sheet uses landscape, with the zone labels identifying the locations represented by the panel’s default zonal grid.
How are the LEDs and buzzer tested?
The button at the bottom centre of the panel starts the lamp test. Alternate blocks of LEDs illuminate so their operation can be inspected, and the internal two-tone buzzer sounds for the duration of the test. The same local control also provides fault-buzzer cancellation. The display contains 1536 red LEDs behind the A3 overlay. Its zonal format identifies affected areas by zone, while a custom plan uses the LEDs to mark locations within the protected building or area.
