Description
The Gent S4-34494 converts a 26-way ribbon connection into numbered wiring terminals for the S4-34600 mimic LED driver or S4-34412 supervisory input module. It mounts on DIN rail inside a custom panel. With the LED driver, one converter connects up to 128 LEDs, with up to six converters on each card. With the input module, its terminals connect twelve switches and their confirmation LEDs. These two uses have different terminal maps and cable limits. LED wiring for the mimic driver can run up to 3m from the converter, while the supervisory module permits up to 10m. The wiring stays within the custom enclosure.
The S4-34494 provides the terminal connection between a 26-way ribbon cable and the wiring inside a custom panel. It works with both the S4-34600 mimic LED driver and the S4-34412 supervisory input module. The companion module determines how the terminals are used.

The S4-34494 provides the terminal connection between a 26-way ribbon cable and the wiring inside a custom panel. It works with both the S4-34600 mimic LED driver and the S4-34412 supervisory input module. The companion module determines how the terminals are used.
With an S4-34600, a ribbon cable connects one of the six IDC headers, P11 to P16, to a converter. Each converter serves an LED matrix of up to 128 LEDs. One fully connected driver uses six converters for up to 768 LEDs. The LEDs must be high-efficiency red, amber or green types.
With an S4-34412, terminals 1 to 12 connect the twelve supervisory switches, terminals 13 and 14 are commons, and terminals 15 to 26 connect the corresponding confirmation LEDs. This is a different wiring arrangement from the mimic LED matrix. The supervisory module handles the switch inputs and their configured system actions.
The converter mounts on DIN rail within the custom enclosure. In the mimic-driver application, the rail is 35mm and LED cable length is limited to 3m from the converter terminals. With the supervisory module, each switch and LED may be up to 10m away. Standard PVC wiring and the connected components remain inside the same enclosure.

FAQs
What does the S4-34494 connect?
It connects the ribbon cable from an S4-34600 mimic LED driver or S4-34412 supervisory input module to numbered wiring terminals inside a custom panel. The converter has terminals 1 to 26, but their use changes with the connected module. A mimic driver uses them for an LED matrix; the supervisory module uses them for twelve switches, two common connections and twelve confirmation LEDs. The terminal map therefore follows the companion module fitted to the converter.
How many converters can an S4-34600 use?
One S4-34600 can use up to six S4-34494 converters, connected through its six 26-way IDC headers, P11 to P16. Each converter provides connections for up to 128 LEDs, making up to 768 LEDs across one driver card. One ribbon cable connects each used header to its converter. The number of converters follows the LED connections used on the driver. The 128-LED arrangement applies to the mimic driver, while S4-34412 uses a supervisory switch terminal map.
How far can the wiring run from the S4-34494?
With an S4-34600 mimic LED driver, each LED may be connected by up to 3m of cable from the converter terminals. With an S4-34412 supervisory module, each switch and its confirmation LED may be up to 10m from the converter. Both arrangements use standard PVC cable for the internal connections. The converter, connected components and their wiring stay inside the custom enclosure, with the converter mounted on DIN rail as part of that internal assembly.
Which terminals are used with the S4-34412?
Terminals 1 to 12 connect supervisory switches 1 to 12. Terminals 13 and 14 provide the common connections, while terminals 15 to 26 connect confirmation LEDs 1 to 12. The converter joins the S4-34412 through a 26-way ribbon cable. The supervisory module processes the switch inputs and the associated system actions. This terminal arrangement belongs to the S4-34412 application; the same converter uses a different LED matrix map when it is connected to an S4-34600.
Where is the mimic LED behaviour configured?
For an S4-34600 installation, the Master Repeat Card holds the configuration that links the LEDs to fire-system events. The Mimic Configuration Tool uses an LED Driver template to associate each LED shape with the driver header and converter terminal pair. For example, P16_24_8 identifies header P16 with the LED positive connection on terminal 24 and negative connection on terminal 8. The S4-34494 provides the physical terminals for those connections inside the custom panel.
