The Gent S4-34412 is a loop-powered 12-input interface module for the Vigilon fire detection and alarm system, accepting non-fire supervisory switch inputs only. LEDs provide a flashing indication when the corresponding switch is closed, and the module is approved to EN54-17:2005 and EN54-18:2005. It is configured using the Vigilon Commissioning tool V1.25 or higher, with switches and LEDs sited up to 10m from the Connection Converter; do not use Blue or White LEDs as these are not suitable.
Technical overview
The S4-34412 is a loop-powered 12-Supervisory Input Module from Gent by Honeywell, part of the S4 Interfaces & Accessories range (Low Voltage Interfaces) for the Vigilon fire detection and alarm system. It provides twelve monitored channels for supervisory switch signals rather than fire inputs, drawing its power entirely from the detection loop.
Each channel drives an LED that flashes to confirm its switch has closed and that the switch-operated message reached the control panel; Blue or White LEDs must not be used, as they are unsuitable for the module. Commissioning is carried out with the Vigilon Commissioning tool from version V1.25 upward, and switches and LEDs may sit up to 10m from the Connection Converter over standard PVC cable. The module is approved to EN54-17:2005 and EN54-18:2005 with LPCB certification.
It suits Vigilon systems whose control panel runs the required MCC/MCB software, with compatibility from loop version V3.93/V4.35 and main control card V3.94/V4.37. A dedicated Connection Converter (S4-34494) is required to interface the module via 26-core ribbon to terminal block.
