The Gent S4-771-S is a Dual Angle Optical Heat Sensor Sounder in the S-Quad range, combining multi-sensor detection with an integral sounder for alarm signalling. The integrated sounder produces typically 90 dB(A) at 1m, and the device is LPCB approved to EN54-5, EN54-7, EN54-3 and EN54-17. Measuring 117mm in diameter, it carries an IP30 rating and supports up to 200 devices per loop.
Technical overview
S4-771-S serves the Vigilon system as Gent by Honeywell's dual angle optical heat sensor sounder, the S-Quad head recorded under the O 2 HS symbol in the S4 detector range. Dual-angle optical sensing paired with heat sensing distinguishes this variant, and an integral sounder handles alarm signalling from the same point, with the part standing as successor to the earlier S4-771.
LPCB approval covers the device, and the relevant standards are EN54-5, EN54-7, EN54-3, EN54-17. The sounder element brings a base obligation shared by VAD and sounder S-Quad devices: an IP21 plate must be fitted for the installation to meet standards, with the S4-701 IP21 base or the S4-705 base covers meeting the need.
