What it is and how it fits the system.
The Gent S4-770-S is an S-Quad Optical Heat Sensor Sounder, a combined multi-sensor and loop-powered sounder device for the Vigilon system. It pairs optical and heat detection with an integral sounder delivering typically 90 dB(A) at 1m, and is LPCB approved to EN54-5, EN54-7, EN54-3 and EN54-17. Rated IP30 with an operating range of -10°C to +50°C, up to 200 devices are supported per loop.
Technical overview
S4-770-S is the S-Quad optical heat sensor sounder from Gent by Honeywell, a loop device for the Vigilon system identified by the OHS symbol within the S4 detector range. A single head brings together optical and heat detection with loop-powered alarm signalling, so the same unit covers both detection and audible warning duties.
Mounting is on the S4-700 base shared by all S-Quad sensors, offered in white with the S4BK-700 as the black option; quoted weight and height figures are given with and without this base. As a sounder-equipped S-Quad head, the device must be used with a base carrying an IP21 plate to meet standards, a requirement satisfied by the S4-701 IP21 base or the S4-705 base covers.
LPCB approval applies against EN54-5, EN54-7, EN54-3, EN54-17. On the Vigilon loop the part supersedes the earlier S4-770, taking its place in current S-Quad installations.
