S3 Sounders & VADs
Gent S3EP-V-VAD-HPR-R EP Voice Sounder + Red VAD

- Load factor per device
- 21.5
- Max quantity per loop
- 45
- Max loop cable length
- maximum limit of 1Km loop cable usage allowed per loop circuit (sum of main loop, spurs, and cable runs to all input/output lines off loop powered interface units)
- Max io line cable run
- maximum limit of 100m cable run allowed per input/output line off loop powered interface unit
- Loop floor area limit
- The loop circuit must not cover more than 10,000m² of floor area of a protected site.
- Nano system vad behaviour
- All the 'High perform.' and 'Standard perform.' S-Cubed devices and (HP) S-Quad devices all revert to LOW VAD performance devices when installed in a Nano panel based system. Only the LOW VAD setting of the device is used in a Nano system.
Overview
What it is and how it fits the system.
The Gent S3EP-V-VAD-HPR-R is an environmentally protected (EP) loop-powered device combining a voice sounder with a high-performance red visual alarm device on a red body. Carrying a load factor of 21.5 per device, up to 45 may be installed per loop, within the loop's 1km cable and 10,000m2 floor-area limits.
Technical overview
S3EP-V-VAD-HPR-R is Gent by Honeywell's environmentally protected wall voice sounder with VAD, an S3 Sounders & VADs device pairing voice alarm output with a high-performance red visual alarm device on a red body. Data and power both arrive over the loop cable, and where the European EMC directive is in force only EMC-compliant loop cables, such as the Draka Firetuf FT120 Enhanced (FTPLUS2EH1.5RD), may be used.
Loop planning follows the S-Cubed limits: each unit places a load factor of 21.5 on the circuit, up to 45 may share a single loop, and the loop must keep within 1 km of cable — main run, spurs and input/output lines counted together — while serving no more than 10,000 m² of protected floor area. One behaviour matters at design stage: connected to a Nano panel, S-Cubed devices of the high-performance and standard-performance classes drop back to LOW VAD operation, and only the LOW VAD setting is used.
Within the Gent catalogue the part supersedes S3IP-SN-ST-RR-V2 and S3IP-VP-ST-RR; physical connections are covered in the installation instructions.
