Description
The M200 series of modules are microprocessor controlled interface devices permitting the monitoring and/or control of auxiliary devices, and M221EA is the dual input, single output version. Its inputs watch normally open contact fire alarm and supervisory devices; the output offers single pole changeover contacts rated 30 VDC, 2A (Resistive load) for fire shutters and sounders. Connection must only be made to control panels using compatible proprietary analogue addressable communication protocols. Provided the control panel is compatible, short circuit fault monitoring of the input circuit may be possible, with an 18kΩ resistor wired in series with each device switch being monitored.
Mounting is in an M200E-SMB surface-mounting box of 132 mm (H) x 137 mm (W) x 40 mm (D), or on standard 35 mm x 7.5 mm "Top Hat" DIN rail. It is declared to EN 54-17: 2005 and EN 54-18: 2005 under DOP-IOD072. Disconnect loop power before installing modules or sensors, and observe precautions when handling and making connections, as this is an electrostatic sensitive device. Switching inductive loads on the M221EA output channel can cause switching surges, which may damage the module relay contacts, so connect a suitable Transient Voltage Suppressor across the load.

M221EA is the dual input, single output module of the M200 series. It provides dual channel monitoring of normally open contact fire alarm and supervisory devices, and its single pole changeover contacts control auxiliary devices such as fire shutters and sounders. These modules must only be connected to control panels using compatible proprietary analogue addressable communication protocols.
The module runs on 15 to 32 VDC, with a minimum of 16.5VDC for LED operation, and its maximum standby current is 140 µA @24 V with no communication. Relay contact ratings are 30 VDC, 2A (Resistive load), the red LED draws 1.5 mA and the yellow 5.5 mA, and plug in type terminals accept conductors up to 2.5 mm². Humidity is 5% to 95% relative humidity (non-condensing).
Three tri-colour LEDs indicate the status of each channel, and the module address is selected by means of rotary decade address switches, turned with a screwdriver from the front or the top. All M200 series modules carry short circuit monitoring and isolators on the intelligent loop, and the isolators may be wired out of the loop to facilitate the use of the modules on high current loaded loops. Switching inductive loads on the M221EA output channel can cause switching surges which may damage the module relay contacts, so a suitable transient voltage suppressor should be connected across the load. Loop power must be disconnected before installing modules or sensors, and this is an electrostatic sensitive device, so observe precautions when handling and making connections.
