Overview
What it is and how it fits the system.
The Gent M201EA-240 is an intelligent addressable, loop-powered two-pole relay module that provides one two-pole voltage-free relay output with one normally open and one normally closed contact, switching on command from the fire panel. As a bistable latching device, it holds the On or Off state on command from the controller and is suitable for managing 240VAC loads. Part of the Series 200 plus input/output range, it operates from 15 V dc to 32 V dc with a maximum standby current of 27 µA.
Technical overview
M201EA is an intelligent addressable relay module that gives a fire control panel one switched, voltage-free output. The relay works across two poles and is bistable, holding either the on or the off position until the panel commands a change, and it can control loads at up to 240 V ac. Power is drawn from the addressable loop.
Each contact set offers a normally-open and a normally-closed path, rated to 5 A when switching 30 V dc, 100 V rms audio or 250 V ac power. The module runs on 15 to 32 V dc. A tri-colour LED, visible from the front and one side, shows green while the relay is energised.
Addresses from 1 to 99 are set on rotary switches, and both CLIP and advanced protocols are supported. Built-in short-circuit protection for the communications loop can be enabled or bypassed on each module by linking terminals 2 and 4. Integrated brackets clip the module to a standard 35 mm DIN rail, or it can sit in the M200E-SMB surface box, which raises the sealing from IP30 to IP44.
The module measures 82 x 22 x 99 mm, weighs 118 g, and works from -20°C to 60°C. VdS and CPR approvals apply, alongside EN 62368-1 certification. Where a fire panel must meet NZS 4512:2021, the module must not be wired to 230 V ac mains, and it supersedes the earlier M201E. Terminal connections are detailed in the installation instructions.
