The Xtralis VSP-982-B is a black 6mm surface-mount sampling point for the VESDA-E VEA aspirating smoke detection series, designed for use where access to the ceiling void is limited. With a 6mm inlet to suit appropriate microbore tubes and a swivel joint for optimum tube orientation, it is fully supervised and automatically cleaned by the detector; also available as VSP-982-B22 in a pack of 22.
Technical overview
VSP-982-B is the black 6mm surface-mount sampling point for Xtralis VESDA-E VEA aspirating smoke detection, designed for buildings where access to the ceiling void is limited.
Surface mounting keeps the sampling network on show: microbore tube stays in sight, routed along the ceiling of the protected area, and each point takes a direct screw fixing to the ceiling face. The 6mm inlet suits the matching microbore tube, and a swivel joint orientates the tube along its run.
As with the rest of the patented VEA point family, supervision of both point and tube sits with the detector, and cleaning of the point is automated.
Surface-mount sampling points span a black and a white finish, VSP-982-B being the black 6mm version. Physical installation and connection detail, down to screwing the point to the ceiling, belongs to the installation manual.
