Remote VESDAnet socket
PC-Link (non-wall-mounted) Open Protocol HLI must connect to a VESDAnet socket; the remote VESDAnet socket module is required except on the wall-mounted HLI.

The VHX-0310 is a VESDA Open Protocol High Level Interface configured in the master-slave model, connecting a VESDAnet network to PC monitoring software, Building Management Systems and Fire Alarm Control Panels. It supports up to 40 detectors and operates on 24 VDC at 70 mA quiescent (1.68 W). Modem support is not available on this unit.
Technical overview
The VHX-0310 is an Xtralis VESDA Open Protocol High Level Interface operating in the master-slave model, designed to link a VESDAnet network with PC software monitoring tools, Building Management Systems and Fire Alarm Control Panels. It supports up to 40 detectors and consumes 1.68 W quiescent power at 24 VDC, drawing 70 mA under idle conditions.
This unit provides information on detector type (VLC, VLS, VLP, VLF) with mimic mode support for VLP, VLC and VLS configurations. In the master-slave architecture, the host supervises the communications link by polling the HLI for status changes across the VESDAnet. Physical wiring details are covered in the installation manual, with terminal-by-terminal connections not reproduced here.
The VHX-0310 connects via supplied VESDAlink RS-232 9-way serial and VESDAnet RS-485 15-way cables, and is compatible with spare parts VSP-509 and VSP-511. It requires a remote VESDAnet socket module (VRT-300) for non-wall-mounted installations and is configurable using Xtralis configuring and monitoring software packages.
