Overview
What it is and how it fits the system.
The Gent S4-34401 is a loop-powered single channel mains switching interface for the Vigilon fire detection and alarm system, supplied complete with its enclosure. As a loop-powered device it offers a cost-effective solution, and each unit carries EN54-17 short-circuit handling to enhance system integrity. Individual addressing maximises information reporting and supports flexible cause-and-effect configuration.
Technical overview
The Gent S4-34401 is a loop-powered single channel mains switching interface for the Vigilon fire detection and alarm system. Manufactured by Gent by Honeywell, it sits within the S4 Interfaces & Accessories range, under the Mains Switching Interfaces sub-range, and is built into its own enclosure for straightforward mounting.
Drawing power directly from the detection loop, the unit simplifies wiring and keeps installation economical. It is individually addressed, so the control panel can identify and manage it precisely as part of a wider cause-and-effect scheme. Onboard EN54-17 short-circuit protection helps preserve the integrity of the loop should a fault occur, allowing the rest of the system to continue operating.
Designed for use across the Gent Vigilon platform, the S4-34401 gives the fire alarm system switched control over a single mains-powered load. Its loop connection and self-contained enclosure make it a practical choice for installers integrating auxiliary control into a Vigilon detection network.
