Description

The OSI-RE-SS is a reflective beam smoke detection system comprising an Imager and a reflector. It operates from 10.2 to 32 VDC (12 or 24 VDC nominal) with the reflector positioned between 5 m minimum and 100 m maximum from the Imager, and offers four selectable obscuration settings from 25% to 50%. A normal commissioning process takes roughly 10 seconds, and the unit must be powered from an EN54-4 certified AC/DC power converter.

OSI-RE-SS is a conventional reflective beam smoke detection system in the OSID beam detection range, built as a two-part pairing of an Imager and a reflector. Spans between the two parts run from 5 m at minimum out to 100 m, and the part supersedes the earlier 6500RE and 6500RSE.

A normal commissioning pass completes in roughly 10 seconds, and four selectable obscuration settings spanning 25% to 50% allow the response to be matched to the space. On the hardware side, the unit carries a heater with an on/off switch, a USB connector and support for Class A return loop wiring, alongside separate alarm and fault relay connections plus remote outputs for alarm and trouble and a remote test/reset input.

Fire alarm control panel interfacing is supported, analogue addressable input or zone modules can be used with the system, and a listed end-of-line power supervision module is required when other sensors share the loop. For setting to work, the OSP-002 laser alignment tool assists rough alignment over longer distances or in heavily lit spaces, the OSP-004 test filter checks correct alarming at the reflector, and the RTS151KEY remote test station handles testing; the 6500-LRK long range reflector kit covers 70 m to 100 m spans, and the 6500-MMK adds ceiling and wall mount swivel brackets. CE compliance requires power from EN54-4 certified AC/DC power converters.
