Description
The NP17-12 is a 12V 17.0AH sealed lead acid (SLA) battery, supplied under manufacturer code NP17-12 (RE) and order code 18-0642. Built as a Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) lead acid battery, it is classified as a wet, non-spillable electric storage battery and remains stable up to 60C when undamaged.

The NP17-12 is a 12V sealed lead acid battery rated at 17.0Ah, part of the YUASA NP range and also identified by order code 18-0642. It uses valve regulated lead acid construction, so the electrolyte is immobilised and the cell can be mounted in a range of orientations without leaking.
Because it is sealed and non-spillable, the battery is classified under UN 2800 as an electric storage unit that can be transported and installed without risk of electrolyte spillage. An undamaged cell remains stable at temperatures reaching 60°C, so performance holds in warmer enclosures provided the casing has not been ruptured or otherwise compromised.
The NP17-12 replaces the earlier RB170FR and sits alongside related YUASA NP sizes such as the NP24-12, NP12-12 and NP7-12, each carrying its own order and manufacturer codes. For physical connection and terminal details, refer to the relevant installation manual.
