Technical overview
EACIE4 is the BS8629 Evacuation Alert System four-panel, 48-zone version of the EvacSmart-EACIE panel, a standalone manual building evacuation system for tower blocks of flats over 18m in height where no other automatic fire evacuation systems are present. It incorporates a high-security lock to EN 1303:2015 operated by copy-protected keys carried by the Fire and Rescue Service, with indicators and controls for service and maintenance use only. The system is supplied with all materials, equipment and wiring required for installation and accepts engraved zone labels on fascia plates according to customer specifications. It complies with BS8629 requirements and references document 4188-1141-Rev02 for installation guidance.
The EACIE4 forms part of a range that includes EACIE1, EACIE2 and EACIE3 variants, offering configurations from single-panel 12-zone to three-panel 36-zone setups to suit different building designs. Each version maintains the same core functionality as a manual evacuation system, featuring the required high-security locking mechanism and copy-protected key operation for Fire and Rescue Service access, while providing clear visual and audible alarm indications during emergency situations. This modular approach allows specifiers to select the appropriate panel count and zone capacity based on the specific layout and evacuation needs of their residential tower block.
